Could weed be a substitute for a lot of pain pills in the future? Obviously you have to give people strong stuff after surgery and things like that, but maybe weed can help with general pains and stuff like that. Like a sore back, or hurt knees.

it’s a shitty high. You get super loaded and fricked up but the high isn’t even in the same universe as a good Heroin high

Right everyone I know would much rather have good straight heroin than fent, I don’t agree with the others saying that people are seeking it out over h.

There is people that seek it out now. Most of the younger junkies that started in the last decade or so have only had dope they had been cut with fent. And with fent being so strong that now dope cut with a good amount of fentanyl is the only thing that gets them ‘loaded’

Many of them equate getting ‘loaded’ as ‘high’ but fent has ruined their ability to ever actually get a good heroin high

It’s so sad. I know a girl who took a Xanax that laced with it and died. She did not know. The police finally located her killer.

Would be far superior situation from a harm-reduction standpoint.

People use it to get higher with less money. It also takes less for the same feeling so it’s easier to conceal. Works out for drug dealers, other than most judges frown very highly of it

Fentanyl is very cheap to make and doesn't take that much to get you high. It's mixed with other drugs due to it being cheap. The lethal dose is 2 milligrams. It is not being used by 13-18 year olds who use it because they buy it in pills form. Most people using it don't know they are. Opioid Use Disorder is an illness

I understand heroin being cut with fentanyl, but why are uppers such as coke and speed being cut with fentanyl? That makes no sense to me.

I don’t think they’re intentionally cutting coke with fentanyl very often. I think it’s more of a cross-contamination issue. Most drug dealers aren’t the kind of people that are super careful about cleaning off surfaces they cut product on.

Actually they do. Fentanyl is so cheap and you don't need much of it

I believe there are tests available but doubt your regular drug user is going to bother with testing.

I actually meant it for the recreational user. Lol

The effects of abuse/trauma or just no prospects in life.

Drug addiction is correlated to social problems. Often, social problems are from trauma or economic prospects.

That's why you see addiction skyrocketing in all these small Rust Belt towns that lost "the factory" and have populations with no ability to progress. They're stuck in the same town with the other "losers" and have no options. That cycle will always produce addictions.

It's the same paradigm that we've seen in the ghetto for 40 years now. Kill economic prospects and you destroy populations.

They exist but are illegal in some states.

Texas Monthly just wrote about the issue.

Some people are more susceptible to developing a substance use disorder due to their ability to make certain neurotransmitters . Also Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) scores have a correlation with substance abuse

Just stick to ganja.
Maybe the occasional mushroom or cactus.

Why would anyone need anything else?

According to several documentaries I've seen, deaths are actually good for business. Real junkies are attracted to the strongest batch they can find.
