Because it is not used/sold in the way you think it is.

Fentanyl is used to cut fake prescription pills. You get more bang for less buck. But....the black market pill mills are shite and cannot accurately control the distribution of fentanyl on a per-pill level. A junky can buy 10 pills. Four can be just right, four can be next nothing, and two can have more than enough fentanyl to kill a few people. The problem is, no one involved can tell the difference.

Also the old saying goes that any publicity is good publicity. Basically the more it’s talked about and publicized, the more it has people becoming curious about trying it.

Very few are seeking out fentanyl. Fentanyl hasn’t gained traction because drug users prefer it.

I’ve heard that when someone ODs the addicts want to know who the dealer was because they want the strongest stuff. These people are not well.

Cause the bang for the buck smuggling it is huge, and China is pumping it out in CCP labs

Incorrect.

Even tho you’re alluding to it being mixed in with other drugs which cause people to accidentally OD

I understand heroin being cut with fentanyl, but why are uppers such as coke and speed being cut with fentanyl? That makes no sense to me.

Easy to smuggle and can be cut into anything.

People who get addicted to government approved heroin buy black market pills because it’s way way cheaper.

Maybe I’m just not cool, but if a single grain of fentanyl can kill a person, how is that people are abusing it recreationally?

This is the crux of the massive increase in ODs. Dealers have been cutting naturally derived opiates for many decades but the difference is the cutting agents were almost always the smaller volume where with the extreme potency of fentanyl the cutting agent is 99% or more of the "mix". To do this properly and get uniform distribution across a batch of pills you need actual drug lab equipment like Phizer or Merck use along with routine batch analysis.

Smugglers love fentanyl due to the small volumes. A kilo makes ~50 kilos of pure heroin level dope ie 40 pounds makes a ton or more of street level dope or an incredible pile of fake Oxys.

They aren’t intentionally killing off their clientele. Fentanyl is cheap compared to the real drugs. So the dealers/cartels dilute other drugs and mix in a little fentanyl. Then they sell it as if it were heroin or various prescription pills. Bigger profit margin from reducing the production costs. Drug user doesn’t know this and just knows it gets them high as frick….until they get a batch with just a little too much fentanyl mixed in and it kills them

It’s not the drug of choice per se,
It’s sprinkled into pretty much any heroin, pressed in pills, sprinkled in blow and meth.

It kills the people not used to the power it hits with, but if you’re a fennin heroin junkie that can take the lick, that’s when it becomes popular.

Otherwise to everyone else, stay away from street drugs always, no exceptions. I don’t know why fentanyl testers aren’t available in case you want to press your luck.

Yes! Yes and Yes! This is the correct answer! These drug dealers are messing with Fentanyl and are not pharmacists. They don’t even realize how much they are using/adding to their “products” trying to get their stuff better and more addictive than the next guy’s product. They are literally playing with people’s lives trying to have the best shite out there.

I believe there are tests available but doubt your regular drug user is going to bother with testing.
