So she couldn't find professional development conferences in the United States somewhere? I've been to hundreds of professional conferences and I've never had to use my passport and usually had a decent time.

What kind of professional development has to be done outside of the U.S.? What magic sauce is she getting from Ghana/Puerto Rico that she couldn't get from Harvard, UChicago, Stanford etc. AKA the best training centers on earth
