Several outlets have demonstrated conclusively that the physics involved show the shots that hit Kennedy both came from behind him. A bullet makes a larger exit wound than entry room. While it seems counter-intuitive, the explosive force will push the head toward the shooter.
The most famous of these outlets is the book "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner. I've also seen a Discovery Channel documentary that recreated the shots as if they were from the Book Depository and the wounds on the dummy were consistent with what we know from the Zapruder film and the autopsy data available.
It's entirely possible that Oswald wasn't the shooter, but the physics do not support the idea that the bullets that hit Kennedy came from the grassy knoll.
