you seem hellbent on not getting the 2nd shot, which is weird to me, but you do you

We had over 50 employees out at the hospital after the 2nd moderna for a day or two. Pfizer wasn't nearly as bad in terms of time missed.

50 out of how many total who got 2nd dose?

I’m just facilitating a discussion. The report you sent was insightful and informative. Basically says one shot provides excellent short term protection. The second shot seems to be to ensure the you keep immunity for a longer time frame.

After more data cones in, it might turn out that the 2nd shot actually is unnecessary. Let’s see how that plays out.

People very well could choose to hold off on the 2nd dose bc they don’t like the risk of feeling shitty for a few days just so that they can have a really small additional amount of protection for something that really wasn’t a threat to them any way.

I also heard from a friend, and it is complete hearsay, that some doctors are telling people if you already had Covid, you only need the first shot as you having it was essentially your first dose, the first shot would be essentially be your second dose, so the second shot would essentially be a third dose.

frick that. I want all the doses. 5G bandwidth is really important to me.

Got 2nd shot 2 days ago moderna. First shot just a sore arm for two days. Wednesday I got second at 3pm. Went to bed with slightly sore arm. Woke up and my entire body ached and headache. I said I'll work from home until lunch and go in. By lunch time I had 100.7 degree fever and couldn't get out of bed. By 6pm my fever was breaking. 7:30 PM was normal temp and just felt mildly off. All good today.

This is EXACTLY what I went through, just shifted 3 hours earlier because my shot was at noon. Same basic timeframe and same progression of symptoms. When the fatigue hit and I knew working was a lost cause, I just turned my time tracker off and slept all day.

Plus that report basically says that we should have been prioritizing everyone getting 1 shot first instead of ensuring people had the chance to get both shots before opening it up to more people.

Outside of very minor site soreness, I had zero side effects to either Pfizer vaccine dose. What's been explained to me is that if you have had COVID-19, you are more likely to have a reaction to the vaccines.

My doctor brother-in-law believes that if you already had Covid you feel worse after the first shot. If you haven't had Covid, you the second shot hits you hard. This is based on the residents at his hospital who already caught Covid and got the vaccine.

I think the science behind having two shots is using a very conservative approach in order to maximize efficacy. While, in all likelihood, a single shot probably would have been enough for most people.

I heard very little if any side effects other then just some mild soreness after the first shot.

Made me really lethargic for two days, pretty much draggy for a week.

I began to feel lethargic like 10 hours after my second shot. It lasted about 5 hours but I felt completely fine later that night. The soreness in the arm wasn’t even that bad the 2nd time around.

You’re correct that one shot gives decent immunity but we aren’t really sure how long that’ll last

No one knows how long it lasts even after 2 shots. In fact, no one knows how long any of these vaccines remain effective, nor do they know how long your natural immunity lasts once you’ve recovered from the actual virus.

Anyone that tells you they know is a fricking liar. It’s being researched, but zero of this research is conclusive yet. That’s a fact even the manufacturers acknowledge.

This is why under normal circumstances it takes many years to receive FDA approval for an experimental drug.

But just take it and don’t worry about any of that. They’ll figure it out later.

See why people are a little hesitant?

I got the 1st moderna shot yesterday . I’m scheduled for the 2nd on the 23rd of April. Hoping for mild side effects so I can enjoy my long weekend. Fingers crossed!

I got it at 1145 yesterday morning. So far no issues other than some very minor soreness in the upper arm.

Just got my second shot a couple days ago (moderna). No difference compared to the first one. Just a really sore shoulder for about 24-36 hrs.

Lots of what you said is incorrect, but your post demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding that would take longer than the character count of TD to correct.

So, I'll just call you an idiot.
