Yeah, most likely, if it started out of nowhere. The well at my grandmother's always produced sulfur water. Just unlucky as the where the house sat, I guess. She never tried to have it fixed because she also had county water.

I have a family member with a well very high in sulphur and iron. I thought I was taking a shower in blood and rotten eggs. Truly horrible. They have since installed a very expensive whole house water filter system.

That's hydrogen sulfide you are smelling and it is predominantly in well water. Chlorine will neutralize it, so will activated carbon filters.

This

It's harmless in small amounts like you're noticing, more of a nuisance than anything.

As has been said. Most likely sulfur. Had the same issue in my house growing up.

Your well is not deep enough. The only thing that can help is charcoal filters.

There are well-water filtration systems that can be retrofitted to fix this.
If that seems to cumbersome, at least a filter for the water you’re drinking will help with the taste
If neither of those are possible or good enough, maybe an under sink RO system (also easily retrofitted) may be necessary and will probably taste best

But it’s usually just smelly and stainy without being unhealthy.

Is it hot water or cold water? If only hot water you have sone growth in your hot water tank.. if it is this it usually happens when you leave for a few days and the hot water sits in the tank… also usually happens more in the summer… if both or cold …idk

sounds like you have sulfer in your water.

move to Lake Charles. you will still have the sulfer smell, but you eventually go nose blind to it.
