Bumping this to see if there is any new info. Leaving soon to go on our trip.
Yeah meant to say Hyatt but had Marriot on the brain. I booked two nights at the Reno airport Hyatt for 18000 points. Hard to beat that.
Marriot was having a 25% transfer bonus a few weeks ago when I was transferring.

Even though you mostly fly Delta, there are still some good deals to be had on long flights. I would plan a trip around United flights paired with Marriot stays. Be flexible on the flights and your points can go a long ways.
You must not have a teacher in the family. I promise you their day doesn't end at 3 pm and all summer, they're doing nothing. My wife takes a few weeks off and then starts prepping for the next year. All those breaks, yeah, she's working on getting papers graded, projects tidied up, and grades submitted. It's not a cake walk. In fact, my job (engineer) is a lot easier than what she had to do (math teacher, STEM teacher).
Yeah, not even 1/2 dozen.. which normal..
I will be in Grindelwald for a few days in June. What do you suggest we do there? We do plan on doing a hike.

hey! mine is facing the other way.. Yours you can see St. Andrews Castle, or what's left of it.
Can confirm the Barksdale.. but all of this "drilling" wouldn't make a meaningful difference. I'm surprised its not happening at other places.

Went last summer. Fantastic trip. We home based in Edinburgh for like 3-4 days. From there we did day trips to Sterling & St. Andrews. I think you could spend 2-3 days in St. Andrews; just a beautiful town. I also really enjoyed Inverness. We stayed on the river in apartments(Highland Apartments by Mansley). They were nice. Out of Inverness, we day tripped to the Isle of Skye. That was awesome, but be prepared for a lot of rain.

Be prepared for the food... Basic food is not that good, but there are some fantastic restaurants we ate at.
Edinburgh: Makar's Mash Bar, PIGGS Brunstfield (probably my favorite meal), Howee's Waterloo Place.

There's lots of Indian restaurants, which I thought was great. We ate at one that was close to our airbnb, Indian lounge Edinburgh. Pretty good.

Inverness: Johnny Foxes (great fish and chips), Mustard Seed Restaurant

Let me know if you have any other questions!
You also had other things going on this weekend in Miami. You had the F1 race which draws 250,000+.
I think we have 2 tours set up. But this trip will be a relaxing trip instead of "we need to do and see everything in 7 days." We have 3 nights at The Edition and then another 3 nights at The View - in Lugano, then 2 nights in Grindelwald.
Do you have any other recommendations for the area? Tours, coffee shops, things to do, or things that were a waste of time?

We're taking the train from Milan to Varenna and ferrying over. Is that the best way?

Same here
Thank you. Heading to Como area in June.

Did you stay at The Edition? That's where we're staying for part of our stay.
