Why does Gaza get so much attention?

The Sudan War got something like 3 days of attention before being completely forgotten.
About 95% of people have never even heard of the Rohinhgya Genocide in Malaysia.
Heck, even the Ukraine War barely gets covered anymore.
But the Gazans get almost 24/7 media attention.
For a supposedly oppressed people, they get a whole lot of media attention.

My guess is because it’s in the Mecca of religion and has been a contested land for thousands of years

I’d bet $100 that less than 10% of Americans could mark Sudan on a blank map of Africa.

Less probably.
But then I'd also bet that less than half could find Israel on a map either.

Israel is America's "greatest ally"
2b Muslims around the world talk about it non stop
American liberals view it as whites oppressing POCs
However I think its run its course, most people no longer give a shite

The Rohinhgya are in Myanmar. I think Pakistan has taken a lot of them.

Well the US involvement-weapons and funding- is a major factor to what is happening there.
45,000 dead in an area the size of D.C is also pretty unbelievable.

Isnt that in Myanmar not Malaysia? To be honest, I'm not familiar w it and had to look it up.

Yeah, way, way more people have died in Ukraine than in this Gaza War. Hell, we have killed way more Yemeni people (377,000) than Gazans (52,000). But no fricks given about these people though.

Probably because it’s a religious war fought on holy grounds.
Seems like the other wars are wars of greed and not principle

Understandably, people expect an ally and democratic nation to potentially be influenced by opinion. They are held to a higher standard.
Reminds me a bit of when people complain about protests against police brutality etc by saying "why dont they protest gang violence, thugs etc.?"
There is a reasonable expectation that the state may be responsive to criticism and should be held to a high standard for the use of violence whereas, criminal elements are just that and they dont care or have any sense of duty to respond to will of citizenry.

Go to Djibouti, go aboot 400 miles WNW and you will enter the Sudan. Go another 310 miles and you can watch Khartoums.
