I honestly don’t know how their food is these days. I haven’t stepped in a BK in probably 10 years

Whopper is a legit decent fast food burger.

When freshly flamed broiled, I agree. Which now never happens. Now you just get a reheated patty that was cooked early that morning.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone call them BK in real life. It sounds pretty dumb.

Any of you ever actually say you’re going to BK?

I thought you only made shitty threads on Saints Talk

Last I heard, Burger King is closing 400 stores. But damn that stupid song/jingle they do these days on the commercials is aggravating. Also, BK is crap food.

>Well they did this because they wanted to get rid of the word “Fried” in their logo and marketing - Fried food = Unhealthy

Does their target demo even care?

I recall hearing at the time that it was done to remove "Kentucky" - which their target demo might care about

It's something I noticed these corporations started doing about 20-30 years ago and other corporations jumped on the bandwagon. KFC was one of the first in 1991. Then FedEx. And more recently Dunkin Donuts shortened their name to "Dunkin'."

Burger King tried it in marketing with "BK" but I don't think they officially changed their name.

There's surely many others I am forgetting.

Oh, Dairy Queen started doing "DQ" as mentioned in the thread.

I will admit I eat way too much fast food. I love Popeye's, Taco Bell, CFA, and Wendy's.

I couldn't tell you the last time I had Burger King or talked to someone who'd had it in several years. I never see lines at BK.

Or United Parcel Service calling itself UPS? Or Federal Express calling itself FedEx?

Some marketing research 20+ years ago found that Americans have better brand recognition with shorter names.

They’re so done…the have it your way slogan no longer makes sense because every burger place now lets you customize and has for decades…but hey keep running ads about the endless ways you can customize the whopper

Whopper is a legit decent fast food burger. I will admit the rest of their food isn’t great but the burgers are solid

The fries suck.

The service usually sucks too.

But a Double Whopper with cheese and bacon (when cooked correctly) absolutely destroys ANYTHING their 2 main competitors serve.
