Why do white parents today name their kids ridiculous names?

This is something black people tend to do. I assume it started as a way to have their own "black identity" by naming their kids unique names, no matter how ridiculous some of the names are.
But what is the deal with this generation of white people today? Why are they giving their kids ridiculous names? Narcissism? The idea that everyone is special and unique?

I think it’s getting so far away from our ancestral roots and a declining Christian population.
For a long time names especially among men were family names continually passed down, or named after a popular relative, or named a Christian name (Mark, paul, John, etc).
I don’t know why, but I’d guess it’s more distance from the church and a lot more broken families these days so they try to create their own unique names instead of naming them after something or someone meaningful to them.
A lot of traditional names have meaning and roots in Christianity or old European families.

Have a friend who posted a 3d sonogram of her twin grandchildren just tonight actually. The caption was Kamryn and Kash. Good Lord. The days of Michael and Melinda are long gone.

I'd assume that there's a direct correlation between below average intelligence and having 4 kids with names ending with -en and -lyn, but that's just an assumption.
