Why do we have to "have a dialogue" on race?

You hear it all the time. We have to talk about race. We have to have an open dialogue about race... why? First off, there's no such thing as an open dialogue on this subject unless you are defending one side and alienating the other. That is the only dialogue that is accepted. Secondly, it seems like we should concentrate on treating everyone the same. Somehow, I don't think that equality is the point.

I find the race topic is guided almost completely by emotion. Every time it is discussed, it ends with "but you don't know what it's like to be (insert race), so you can't tell me anything".

A dialogue that moves our country towards true equality is what we need.
However, on one side, you have people who believe the other isn't really equal, and on the other side, you have people who don't want equality, but rather, their turn at the top.
We desperately need someone like MLK in these times.

Their idea of having a "dialogue" is for us to sit there, shut up, and let them yell in our faces about how we are white devils.

If you ever manage to engage in a civil discourse with a BLM supporter, you can ultimately logic dead-end them into the corner where they will admit it's not about equality, it's about getting ahead.

If you have different "groups" they will never treat each other the same until they act the same way.
In other words... You can't expect anything better than what we have now until there is no longer a difference between them.
