I'm talking in practice with this exact watch. It gains 1 second a week and has since I got it.
Agree with your point, even the best regulated are 1-3 seconds a day off, but this one, this one is 1 second a week.

This is truly unbelievable to me. Out of all of the things to "waste" money on, how is a watch anywhere near the top of the list? And yet I see comments like the OP's in every watch thread.
Are these the same guys who "waste" $20 every day at the convenience store on Monster drinks, skoal and cigarettes? Or "waste" money on a new iPhone every year, or a new truck every couple of years?
Why watches often get singled out as being a waste of money is a conundrum to me. For the people who like watches it is not wasting money at all, in fact, it is money well spent. It brings daily enjoyment to the wearer and sometimes the watch appreciates in value.

why an Apple watch? you can buy much cheaper devices that do the same thing
buying an Apple watch is nothing but a status symbol

That's a keeper for sure

What an idiotic take. They are luxury items, and more specifically, jewelry. It's no different than spending $10,000 on a Cartier bracelet. For me the difference is, the watch at least has some function, unlike to bracelet that is just for looks.
Also, they should only be purchased as a luxury for people who have the disposable income. The good thing about some of these watches is they can actually appreciate in value, unlike most luxury cars for example....

My wife bought me one last Christmas. It’s ok. It has cellular so that’s nice and not on many cheaper devices.

Imagine being a grown adult and worrying about what other people spend their money on.
When I read posts like OP’s I don’t think they are worrying. That’s a weird take.
I think it’s more of an anti-vanity post. It’s a false humility post to claim he makes only rational decisions as if he were a mere simple man.
I’m wired similarly but mostly just keep the anti-vanity thoughts to myself.

Sure, if you want to tote around a blood pressure cuff and reader.

It’s nice to be able to take a walk without the phone on me. Just my earbuds and the watch and I can still take calls. Maybe there are cheaper ones, like I said I didn’t buy it.

But I always get a chuckle out of baws paying mutiple hundreds or thousands of dollars for something that just tells time. Nothing more than a status symbol, considering everyone in this day and age has a device in their pocket that tells time. It reminds of the baws that feel the need to jack up their trucks. Must be compensating for something

Why do posters of the OT, worry about how others spend money
fixed the title for you
and waydown...there are million things others would say you waste money on and say you must be compensating for something
I know its hard for the OT to imagine...but different people enjoy different things
mind blowing I know

I can. I have also had a few nice ones in the past given as gifts. I wear them once a year for a wedding or funeral
