Kind of like a racial slur, but tilted towards catholics. Implies you’re a follower of the pope, not Christ.

Same way people used to call muslims “mohammedans”.

Wouldn't matter. Sunday is Sunday and Christmas happens to be on a Monday.

To be fair, without the Catholics, Christianity never spreads and rises to power and converts the pagan tribes of Europe in order for there to even be a reformation...so there’s that to consider.

Brainwashed followers fighting over how to correctly follow the brainwashing.

These your not "christianing right" type of arguments are about as holier than thou as it gets.

Pure nonsense.

Envy, mostly. Fear of hell to some extent.

As hard as they pray, as long as they sing, as many hours as they sit in well-cushioned pews in disco-modern-pop-culture congregations, they always, deep down inside, know that they are not members of God's true church and have no hope of salvation.

Merry Christmas !

Being a protestant kid, it was a real culture shock to go from an Episcopal school to a Catholic school. It's not just the weird, almost pagan idol-worshipping and superstitious nonsense (someone seeing the virgin mary in the fuzz of a hospital TV once made it to the cover of the Lafayette Advertiser), I found that the kids were very clique-ish, way more superficial and I have never been able to understand the judgmental hypocrisy when it comes to whacking off or really, any sexual subject.

Catholics also seem to have far less tolerance for anything different. You people love shunning stuff. This is likely why a lot of gay Catholic men try to run and hide in the priesthood, only to crave boy dicks because kids are less likely to tell on them or maybe they're just horrible monsters.

I don't know if being easily offended is a Catholic thing or a Cajun thing, but you've got that going on too.

As for the church, what's left of it today is basically the remnants of a failed attempt at a global theocracy. The Dark Ages were presided over by Catholicism, and to no one's surprise, kept Western Civilization in a quagmire of arrested development for centuries. Science and art happened despite the church, not because of it.

And if one of you could execute that communist pope of yous, that would really be doing me a favor. It makes me nervous that your especially stupid masses are being told that accomplishment and success are wrong.

Seems like you have some issues of your own you should address. Don't lash out at others for your own sins.

As a Catholic, I’ve more than once heard that we are not real “Christians.” Apparently, some folks think we worship the pope and not Jesus. I don’t get it either.

I think some people feel that the formality, pageantry and “big business” of Catholicism supersedes the purpose of religion in general.

It's not like the C&E Catholics are going to go every weekend anyway. Might as well remind them Christ doesn't just come into our lives two times a year. Sounds like you're a C&E baw.

Because not one man is perfect

And that one guy cant speak on behalf of God, because of his own imperfections. Otherwise there would have never been a pedophile scandal in the church. Because that one man would have known, and not hid what manifested itself repeatedly, if he really had Gods ear, on behalf of an entire group of people

Its just a political organization, with God as its platform. Because you don't 'vote' and tell God who gets the blessing

You decide your religion based upon politics. Nope, probably isn't for you.

Well, I did go to Fatima at the exact time it was a diocese to which sex offending priests were sent. Coupla high profile court cases from that time are things the local clerics would like to forget, I bet. Can't say I was sorry to be a protestant, non-alter boy during those years, but yeah, it must really be something I did and not someone else.

Dude, you got some serious issues. Sounds like you have the problems, not the Catholic Church.
