You think he wanted to split Christendom? The dude just pointed out all the unbiblical BS the Catholic Church was doing at the time. You guys were the ones who wanted to put him to death instead of admitting there were things that needed fixing.
And then he, GASP, translated the Bible while in hiding under penalty of death so others could read it?? How could he??
Edit:
first title had a bad typo

Martin Luther is a saint.
The Catholic Church priests were running the original Osteen gambit

Martin Luther just nailed some theses to the church door.
John Calvin was a real piece of work. though.

I don't think Martin Luther has ever been mentioned in any Mass or in any Catholic school class outside of religion I have ever been in.

Martin Luther was the start of the protestations which have led to where we are today such as split Methodist and Presbyterian churches/congregations, prosperity churches and so forth. And some of those churches have evolved into the LGBTQ**2 stuff we see today. It was quite a movement.

He simply did away with the concept of sin. Basically preached you can fornicate (which he proceeded to do after he disowned the Catholic Church) to your hearts desire. He even came up with some catchy phrases like - Sin greatly believe mightily still.
Then he took his Bible and went through it, scratching out all the verses he didn't agree with. Actually we still have that Bible. Thus we have the origin of the King James version of the Bible. By whoes authority did Luther do that? Martin Luther's authority.
It went downhill from there. His Lutheran Church splintered into thousands of subsects. Almost to many to count.
My One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church alone still stands today. The only Christian Church that can trace it founding to Jesus Christ himself.
I will pray that the Holy Spirit will enlighten your mind so that you can see the truth.
Truth, what is that - Pontius Pilate

And when others did start reading it, he was scandalized by the fact that they had different interpretations than he did
Of course he was a terribly important reformer, but he was also a prick with a scatalogical obsession.
