I can appreciate it.
May not agree with some of it but take a stand for something and stick with it

My BIL is a creative director with Leo Burnett in Chicago. We have had the conversation before. He can spend an hour explaining it via adspeak but the gist is they look at the inelasticity of the likely to be offended crowd compared to the elasticity of the group that is likely to identify with the ads. They are simply looking for a net positive.
He also notes that ads are targeted but in the days of the internet, ads are seen by the non-target audience much more than the past, making the numbers harder to nail down. For example an ad in Jet 20 years ago might be seen by a handful of white people, today if it gets internet traction it may be millions. It has the same sort of pro vs con metrics but they become more fluid.

Most logical people can understand how most commercials are tailored. Usually smart consumers are aware of the various tactics that are being used to persuade you to buy a new Chevy truck, for example.
I look for value. I see through the jungles and the Christmas snow in the mountains when I am deciding on making a large purchase. I also know that buying a case of Budlight in not going to get me laid by super hot 20 something models on the beach.
Have to laugh at these ad producers.

the last election was roughly split 50/50? Half the voting US is not PC. So why cater to only 50% of the population?
Well, only 61% of the voting population voted. So you're only pissing off 30%. The 39% who didn't vote probably have no idea what you are talking about.

never would have noticed the damn commercial and the one that preceeded if not for the bitching about it
I've still never seen any of the commercials of reference. I think I will keep it that way.

The reality is that 99.9% of people don’t give a snit. Do you think people stopped flying United after they took the doctor out? No, lowest price wins.

You are under the wrongful assumption that 100% of the 50% gives a frick.

Because getting their message out is more important to them than making money.

I usually don't really question stuff like this. I really just don't care and have enough of my own problems to worry about. BUT, it really surprised me the CEO of f'n DISNEY would speak out to say that the wouldn't produce movies in Georgia because of the abortion law. Really? Disney?
So you don't want to do business in the state because they passed a law to avoid killing your customer? That one made absolutely no sense to me. Just shut up, don't say anything at all if you feel that way. To go out of your way to release a statement about being pro-choice when you're a company thoroughly targeting children is just stupid.

As much as y’all love the phrase silent majority you seem to be a vocal minority
