The voting line may be around 50/50. But doing something like Gillette did is something that will likely bring in new customers who care about that sort of stuff. Sure it will scare people away, but I think people over inlfate social media outrage. Many people were mad at Gillete for the commercial, but at the same time most don't care enough to change their razors all of a sudden especially if they're satisfied with their current product.

Lol, nah. Every decision they make is meant to make more money. It's that simple.

Perhaps in their misguided mind.

They are only targeting white men, and those are the demographics we ignore anymore for everything.

Gotta wait till the quarterly numbers come out to know for sure. It worked well for Gillette last time though.
Nike is another example.

The people who like their message don't have to shave.

Honestly, most people don't give a frick about the commercials and won't change their buying habits.
However there is a large demographic group out there of people who only purchase products from companies that Think Correctly. So companies signal their virtues and this group who makes pretty much all their decisions based on emotion come running to be the first in line to then further virtue signal to their friends that they bought a "responsible" product from a company that Thinks Correctly.
I mean I can't fault marketing departments for exploiting the Groupthink Demographic.

Most people shave some part of their body or another.
Lady razors need moving too.

Instead progressives, lacking the ability to comprehend logic, rely on emotion. This leads them to make idiotic business decisions like alienating half their customer base in favor of what emotionally seems like the “right thing to do”.
You'd think there would be multiple companies out there that are losing money as a result of these decisions, no?
Any examples?

For example Gillette with the new commercials.
You're talking about the ads. People are sharing links to it. Lot of free advertising for them.

Expecting women to shave is misogynistic.

I've been puzzled about this too, and the only solution I've come up with is that it's a similar situation as when a person has been in the same job for years and years, and believes that they're not expendable. Then they cross a line and find out they're expendable.

I find it so pitiful when things like this actually upset people.
You must not have real things to worry about in life.

Well I don’t use Gillette, never have. These things don’t bother me. I was curious as to what the purpose of alienating from a large part of your consumer base was instead of just staying out of politics all together

None of those examples are really comparable to what the op is talking about. Maybe dicks.

The NFL decided to allow players to not stand for the National Anthem.
Dicks decided to stop selling firearms.
Target decided to allow men to use women’s restroom.
All those businesses made decisions based on political factors. And as the links I provided show, those decisions based on political considerations hurt those companies. So those examples are exactly what the OP was talking about.

And then they still have the audacity to use the slogan “the best a man can get”
Aren’t they assuming gender?
