There's one in Granbury, TX --- which is about 45 minutes away from DFW. This was the closest location that I could find when in Dallas / DFW area.

I'm literally walking through a central market right now

HEB is the best grocery store I have ever visited in the 30 states I have traveled.

My understanding was that HEB, Brookshire Brothers, and Kroger all had some sort of agreement about territory.
I have a friend that is a lead buyer for McClane’s (Drayton Mclane that owned the Astros and is a billion dollar shipping magnate) and he said there was some sort of gentleman’s agreement.

HEB is overrated. I can’t speak for other cities but in San Antonio we hardly have any other choices for groceries and it kinda blows. HEB drove out all competition.

HEB has a cult like following. The one in Frisco opening has created a ridiculous amount of PR.

FYI,
Central Market is also an HEB branded store.. They have had them in DFW for years.

It took HEB a long time to enter the Houston market. Give them time

I don’t know, I have only lived in south texas, so there is no competition anywhere I’ve ever lived
Would still be nice to have competition though.

I think there are 2 central markets, maybe 3 in Dallas itself.

I’m a fan of Market Street albeit I don’t really “rank” grocers. I generally find most meet my needs and expectations.

I have Central Market (high end more expensive version of HEB) here in Southlake. They are opening a HEB proper over by Alliance so I’m good.

For that reason alone, Houston >>> Dallas
First, They have opened 1 or 2 and are opening some more soon.
Second, HEB is no better than the other big chains. Ive shopped at many HEBs in different cities and never found them to be any better than the others. I have a Central Market 5 minutes from me and rarely go there, although their beer selection is pretty good.

Central Market been here for years—I have no need for a regular HEB as a result.
