The non BLM public schools aren’t that bad. The BLMs really bring down the state averages

It’s because we don’t pay shite for property tax so teachers make shite and schools look like shite and equipment and books that teachers use to teach are shite.

Property tax in Louisiana is next to nothing compared to places like Texas and Illinois. Without looking Louisiana is probably bottom 3 in property taxes.

They aren’t bad in a lot of places... I’ll leave it to you to figure out where/why they aren’t.

You really think that throwing more money at the problem will fix it? News flash, no matter how new the books are or how fancy the equipment is, unless the students have a desire to learn and better themselves for their own well being, and have such positive reinforcement from their homes and communities, it won’t do shite. Pearls before swine.

Students were educated, some would argue better, for hundreds of years with a fraction of the technology.

The school systems are failing because society is failing. The whole concept of learning, and people’s attitude towards it, needs to change.

We literally have the collected wealth of human knowledge at our fingertips. Supercomputers in our pockets... and to what end? To watch stupid videos of other people playing games and setting themselves on fire?

It’s ridiculous.

Louisiana spends more per capita than many better performing states.

In fact, it looks like money has little to do with student performance.

Well that’s a rather biased view. why are you focusing on low income people? I’ve met a bunch of kids from affluent families who were dumber than shite and lousy “citizens”.

Japan is a homogeneous society. Far easier to educate when everyone has the same cultural mindset. We have people from every walk of life in this country. And many Don’t want to assimilate.

But I agree most If our educational problems start at home.

If a kid does well in school, they’re accused of trying to be white.
Schools have become jobs programs in depressed areas. They make up a job for a friend instead of using the money for the kids.

Lottery and casino taxes were all supposed to got to schools and roads. That’s how they passed the Bible Belt vote in the northern part of the state.

But then our mostly dem controlled legislature removed any and all non dedicated funding and replaced it with lottery and casino taxes.

But here’s another thing, we pay more per student than Georgia in taxes to public schools, yet our results are shite. It’s not a funding problem, is a system problem, meaning it’s not just the bad students, bad parents, bad teachers, too many administrators. It’s all the above

Schools are a function of the care of the parents.

If your family was good at home, trying to raise you well, learn right from wrong, you'll be a better student.
And so on.

1. Politicians setting education rules and standards who have never taught a class in their lives. Have teachers teaching to pass a standardized test for school performance score rather than educational material.

2. Parents that don't reinforce education at home. Doesn't make sure Johnny does his homework but blames bad grades on teachers.

3. Yes, some teachers are the problem as they go into the field for the "days off" only.

4. The "self-esteem" movement pretty much banned teachers from failing students. Kids have figured out the game and know they can do little to nothing and pass cause the teacher will give them a D to keep administration off their backs.

You can blow this theory right out of your arse. We pay a shite ton in taxes. The bigger issue is the money is misspent by the whores and criminals in the legislature or on the bureaucracy that surrounds education. The schools and equipment look like shite because they aren’t properly maintained. Another glaring deficiency of the leaders at every level.

Half the people in this state couldn’t live here if they paid Texas property taxes. I promise you, what La lacks in property taxes, they more than make up for with every other tax. We don’t have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem.

But hey, if you feel undertaxed, write a check. Put
Your money where your your mouth is. I promise you the La dept of revenue won’t send you your
Money back.

1st. To accommodate everyone, they lowered the standards required to pass. I.e. social promotion and main streaming disadvantage students.

2nd. Parents refuse to raise their kids, but expect the teachers to raise their kids the way they would raise their kids, if they had chosen to raise their kids

3rd. When aggrieved by either 1 or both of the above, they go to the ELECTED school Board, who in turn shits on the entire system

In a private school, if you don’t like anything, take your kid and go. Most ,especially catholic, ain’t changing for you
