I have seen a lot of protests and anger about a 5G tower in their neighborhood or in the area. What is the reason people are against it?

Poor at aesthetics needing a tower every 100 feet (exaggeration) and most of the upside was negated because it was determined the risk of interference with meteorological devices was too high on certain frequencies

This type of tracking has been done for years.

Companies like Google even employ scalable floor localization utilizing the barometer on your smartphone, allowing them to precisely tack not only your coordinate location but the actual floor you're on within a specific building.

I think the towers are ugly and I don't see the point of it. I mean, you can stream full-motion video on 4G at much greater than HD quality. WTF are people trying to do that necessitates a new standard? Better to just improve 4G coverage.

Did you fight when the telegraph got upgraded, too, Yosemite Sam?

I'd rather have 5G and a tower that is hardly noticeable. People are making a big deal about the towers but they are really not that noticeable at all.

I have noticed in really nice large sprawling neighborhoods the service is usually poor.

This. I have three power poles on my yard line. I wouldn't even notice a cell transmitter on it.

This is what they look like. They sort of just blend in. The ones I have seen were black, but unless someone points them out it is hard to notice.

Upload rate is a lot faster than 4g.

They can then data mine the shite out of you. Pretty much spy on every facet of your life if wished.

These things will be everywhere watching everything.

Wait until the next virus when they can track everyone for the stay at home orders...

Remember remember the 5th of November...

I have a buddy that is SUPER paranoid about being tracked or watched via the location on his cell phone. He is downright compulsive about making sure that any device he uses has location turned off. When I try to tell him that just because he turns it off, it doesn’t mean that he can’t be tracked, he turns the color of a tomato and freaks the frick out about...”well if you can’t turn it off, then why is it there to be turned off??”

It’s pretty funny that someone can be as crazy about it as he is and still be such a donkey when it comes to the reality of the government’s capabilities.
