Who would you recommend using for a mortgage in Baton Rouge?

Looking for someone that is easy to get a hold of and friendly. Smaller company preferred.

Also curious about this. Wondering if it's better to go with bigger company like capital one or local bank

Just about all of 'em package a bunch of mortgagees and sell them.

OP, I would shop rates as hard as possible.

Honestly, you'll never deal with them after the closing.

I went with a local broker that was able to match a rate from a regional bank.

I ended up going with GMFS on our new house at the recommendation of my realtor and had no issues at all. Great to work with.

Used Fairway when I bought a condo years ago and they sucked.

When you pick up the phone, you can tell your talking to someone in Baton Rouge. Do business with somebody that invested as much in the community as you.
Later on, if you have tax problems, I'd suggest the Bryson Law Firm. Don't use those high pressure out of town sales rep's who promise to work with the IRS and deliver for you, what if they don't?

Anyone, cause chances are they'll sell it to Wells Fargo are some bigger company like it...
