I quit watching it about 3 years ago. All it does is get my blood pressure up. All they do is lie and have agendas

I watch it but I WANT to ignore it sooooooo badly. There's nothing in it except for false flags and getting people all stirred up.

No lie, I've looked into hypnosis as a means to just completely not give a shite about it at all but haven't found any real avenues yet. It seems like a total tool to divide us and anytime I'm goaded into being upset about something, I genuinely feel like a rube in their fricking outrage game.

If I was able to completely forget Fox/CNN/24 news exists, I honestly feel like my life would be infinitely better.

Got into an argument with a buddy recently. I told him I haven’t watched or cared about the news in several years. This is a guy that’s always fired up over some politics. They can all suck a dick as far as I’m concerned. Do any of y’all still watch that crap?

Nope. Why watch news when they only feed you a brief, biased snapshot of the full story designed to invoke a response. There are 10 sides to every story.

Watching it won't change anything either way.. It's good to stay informed just so you can shut down whatever other people are trying to tell you is certain

Correct! Peoples opinions I trust. Basic news, like stuff not political, I get from internet news sites where I can read the content.

There's obviously still plenty people on TD who are obsessed with the news and "current events". And the circus show that is politics.

I've asked this question before on here and will probably say it again in the future. Do some of y'all seriously think that the ultimate power in this world is up for grabs every four years? Seriously? There's more truth in those twix commercials

I honestly can't remember the last time I watched network, cable, or satellite news. I'll catch a bit here or there when visiting my folks, but I pay very little attention to it.

My consumption of the 'news' had already been dwindling a bit beforehand, but it came to a rapid close a few years back, when I started seeing both tv-news and journalism begin referring to basic dudes wearing lipstick and dress as "she" and "Her."

That was the point I just said to hell with it. If a news source is going to try to sell me on that insane non-reality, then that just proves nothing they state on any issue could I trust as being a truth.

How hard is it to just not put it on the TV?

One day I was talking to my wife and we just basically said, "we aren't getting anything out of this, and it's all bullshite, let's stop watching" and we just never put it back on the TV. That was years ago.

Only watch for the local weather talent. Fox News isn’t bad when it’s on mute.

Me too. Local and one of the Big 3 national newscasts every night if I can. It's pretty easy to see some of the garbage for what it is and ignore it, but for the big stories it's still important to know what's going on around you.

I take care of my 86 year old mother. She religiously watches ABC news at noon, 4:00, 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00. It's excruciating.

Those frickers told me I'd get 4-5 inches of rain from idalia. I took off work, drained several inches of water from my pool, built a wall around it and dug drainage trenches and got 3 tenths of an inch of rain
