Mack Chase

You from Artesia?

I don't know them personally but Chase, Yates, and Gray all started at the bottom and cashed out in billion dollar deals. Mack still owns his company I believe though sold quite a bit to Concho 10 years ago.

Pretty cool for a tiny town in NM.

There’s less than 2,000 billionaires in the entire world and you’d think the OT knows every single one.

What are we up to now?

20 billionaires?

By the end of the weekend I bet we can get to 10% of US billionaires.

I mean if you think about the whole six degrees if seperation phenomenon, it doesn't really strain credulity that this collective board could show at least a tenuous connection to 10% of any group in the country.

I'm good friends with a gal who's dad owned a large heavy equipment company. She doesn't 'do' anything but has a degree and does shite for pops here and there.
They have an estate in the Caribbean, a mansion on the beach in Bama, take weekend shopping trips with sisters to NYC on a chartered citation.
She's got more $$ in her wardrobe closet than I got in my 401k. shite like that boggles me wee brain.
Despite that, she's a very humble goober and fun drunk like us normal peasants.

I'm probably the richest guy I know.
Which speaks sadly about who I know. kinda like the tallest midget.
I used to know a guy who made a ton of money, but lost a good bit of it, when one of his employee's basically stole a lot of it and got thrown in prison for it.

One of my best friends has companies that pay him a salary of 1.5M per month. And, it's all his to play with.

He has several sports fishing boats, houses, camps, etc and every persons salary (captains) are run through his company

He does do shite now except hunt and fish all over the world. He heads the "board" that oversees all of his companies. To my knowledge, hes the only one on the board, lol

I semi-know the guy that owns my company. He is a billionaire and owns part of the Bears. 100% self made. He’s about 80.

My direct boss sold his company to my present employer for about $20mm. That’s the second company he has sold and he and his brother own or are invested in multiple other operations. I would estimate his net worth at about $50mm.

but considering the average income of a person in the United States is $25,000 a year

That is bc 1/3 of Americans don’t work at all. Having 1/3 of any sample size at zero will obviously bring the average way down. It’s simple math. $250K isn’t that much in 2018. Anyone who knows a successful business owner, doctor or lawyer will know someone who makes more than $250K.

I never understood the "attraction" of being able to do this. I wouldn't do it no matter how much money I had - being on a plane (first class notwithstanding) for 14-18 hours to have dinner in Europe?
