Couple of weeks in old FEMA trailers while out in the field on various military posts.

No insulation, so you will have to strategically put PTAC-like systems around the place.

I'd also work on good use of the roof area, either for leisure or for solar panels

Lived my first 18 years in one. Parents still live there. They did a good job of fixing it and making it nice so it didn’t necessarily feel like a trailer. Plus there was more than enough room in there for us.

Does a trailer in the middle of the desert during a deployment count?

My parents' second home was a trailer until the house was built.

I was thinking spray foam with some kind of ceiling covering. I’m not sure if this is feasible though, we stayed in one in Taos a few years back and it felt comfortable. Granted it was no humidity and 50’s at night.

We have a three bedroom two bath on a lake in Louisiana, it's mainly a fishing camp but I could live there.

I'll probably retire there one day.

My family moved around a bunch when I was young, and we usually lived in a trailer. Never realized that I was trailer trash until I reached my teen years. My family worked hard, but lived paycheck to paycheck. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college, and I promised myself that my family would never have to live like that. My kids grew up in a large home that we built, really far larger than necessary. Now, they are grown and have their own homes. My wife and I are seriously considering selling our home now and buying... a trailer.

I live in one now. 2000 sq ft. 70x30 carporch ,16x 30 porch on the water ,1/2. Acre land ,cypress, oak, pecan and fruit trees, concrete boat launch in yard. 1/2 mile from grocery, hardware store and barbershop. Fish cleaning shed on water. I love it. Thinking about putting koi fish in my garden tub to add some class.

Floor vents are spectacular on a hot day. Never lived in one but had some friends in them in college.

A touch hungover and laying by those vents is what heaven will be like

Been in one for the past 8 years. Financially me and the wife can’t justify the expense of building at this time. Between the two of us, we will inherit several houses and lots of acreage. Buying a house somewhere would mean we spend 20 years paying a note one something we’ll end up selling when that money could be better spent / saved.

Instead of having to live paycheck to paycheck paying a mortgage, we decided to go this route. It gives us the freedoms to get out and enjoy life with our kids on what income we make. We have modest vehicles, no car or truck notes or credit card debt.

Had nothing to do with the trailer, if something can tip the balance that easily.

My wife lived in one when she was younger. Her grandfather took a double wide and bricked it in. It looked like a house from the outside though

My house burned when I was in high school and we rented a trailer and had it set up in our yard while we rebuilt. So yes
