I was in a decent double-wide in Williston, ND. Only problem is you'd wake up and it would be 50* in the house with the heat on full blast.

Up til age 5 I’d lived in two different trailers. I had a couple toys and one of them was called “outside.” I liked it enough.

Grew up in a an old house, old mining camp house that was relocated to property. It was beginning to fail/foundation. I think mom finding a snake in the toilet and then curtains a few weeks after were real cause to leave though, we moved. That house was blown off foundation in a tornado a year or so after we moved out.
My family of 4, moved into a single wide when I was about 12. Dad upgraded the old single wide when I was 17,to a large doublewide.
I moved out about 19.
Rented a room from my buddy after selling my house in 2015. It was in a double wide. Very nice place on Logan Martin lake.
A home is as nice as you make/maintain. Overall, I would say construction materials on a trailer do not last and will wear. There is a reason they are a cheap means of housing.

My wife and I bought one from a family friend for 7k, moved it to Duson and lived in it for the first 5 years of our marriage. It was a old trailer and had tons of issues. Water lines, busting in the middle of the night, most of the time in "louisiana winter" which still sucked hairy nuts. Had to replace damn near the entire kitchen floor and counters/cabinets. Hurricane ripped all the skirting off, and we had to replace that and all of the insulation on the bottom. All of that sucked, but it taught me a lot and makes me appreciate our house even more when we moved. We made a lot of memories in that trailer, and we look back on it fondly. But we do not miss it.

How is trailer in the woods better than a giant brownstone in Brooklyn?
I like to have peace and quiet, be able to pee off the porch and enjoy the stars at night.
