I think they’re a great way for a young person to get started in life until they’re in a position to buy a house.

I've got a few friends who snowbird in trailer parks in Palm Springs, theirs is on a golf course. It's a pretty sweet winter setup.

I always enjoy your pretentiousness. You're like a 22-23 year old living in a crappy apartment putting down other people's lifestyle.

that's projection (and a little irony). i didn't put down any one's lifestyle.

I’ve kicked around the idea of when I retire my wife and I live out of a fifth wheel. We’d stay at different campgrounds across the country. Stay in one place a few weeks or months until we’re ready to move on and then we go to her next campground. Spend our retirement traveling and seeing the country.

I know a lot of folks who are campground hosts during the summer, live in an RV. It's voluntary, but all hookups are free.

We have some friends who are members of a camper club that has campgrounds all across the country. Members can stay at the campgrounds for like $150 a month. That price includes power, water, and most of the time cable. And from what I’ve seen of their campgrounds, they’re really nice.

About 10 years ago, I was rat racing it up. Job I hated. Mortgage. Three car notes. You name it. Looked around and decided I was going nowhere I wanted to be.

Bought an office trailer frame for 600 bucks and started building a tiny house on it. Sold cars, sold house. Got a different job, went back to college for another degree.

I haven't had a mortgage since then. This is the first time I've ever had a car note again. Financially, I am much better off than I was.

And I'll be damned sure to make my kids understand that there is nothing wrong with downsizing to improve your life.

The goal is to retire at 52.

I lived in one until I was 18. Dad was in the military my entire life and the Navy paid to move it each time he got reassigned. My parents kept up with it very well. Growing up never really thought about it.

Right after we got married, right after we sold our first house and before we purchased our second we took a few months off and traveled the US in an RV for about 4 months. Went from National Park to National Park. This will sound trashy as frick but we just got Planet Fitness memberships and when we wanted to shower not in the RV we did there since they were all over. If I could work remotely 24/7 (wife can) we would sell our current home and do it again until we have kids.

Knew a stripper who lived in a bus, would go to the local gym for the same reason. She put damn near every penny she made in the bank.

I find it equally hilarious that they have $900 truck notes and $1600 mortgages.

I can pay all of my bills: utilities, food, insurance, phone, and car for under 800 bucks a month.

They’re the young and dumb crowd who still think happiness is found by impressing others with material possessions.

My coworkers soon to be ex husband just bought a new truck and his note is 1300 a month

She found out at the divorce hearing. He makes 170k a year as a welder at the Valdez terminal and is almost broke . Wonder why?
