And how did you like it?

I lived in one while in college from Oct 98 - Mar 99. It was miserable.

It was in a janky park with college kids mixed with plant baws and the chronically trashy.

Some of the underpinning was missing and the carpet would lift when the wind blew hard.

The idiot maintenance guy had somehow grounded the whole trailer to a single outlet in one of the bedrooms. This caused a short in which the circuit would try to use the cable wire as a ground whenever that br light switch was turned on. The cable would get knocked out ‘at the pole’ and the cable guy would have to come out to fix. The cae guy said that if someone were touching the outside of the trailer at the moment the switch was flipped, it probably would kill them.

It was just a total dump. I assume everyone living in a trailer has the same experience.

Not a damn thing wrong with a trailer if family is working hard and doing their best

I was waiting for your story to conclude with “And that’s how my sister and I conceived our first child. Roll Tide!”

Spent two nights in a trailer used as a camp, does that count?

I grew up in one.

And have since moved a long long way away from that. To allow my kids to live in a nice home I never got to have.

I didn’t know social status until around middle school, so I didn’t care when I was a small child. But, my parents did the best they could and raised me and my brothers right.

Everything evolves. This is why I think people that live in trailer parks have no excuses to improve themselves. There’s nothing holding them back but themselves to better their situations.

For almost a year after Katrina. It was for work but it sucked bigtime.

Yes. Single wide. In college. Off Gardere.

It wasn’t terrible. It was cheap.

maybe it's a choice

I know quite a few people who live in mobile homes and do it because they are frugal. Hell, I know people who live in travel trailers.

All you do is start “is so and so trashy.” How many times have you actually posted anything that didn’t include the word “trashy?”

my uncle gutted out a bus, remodeled it, and lived in it for years

Owning a trailer, travel trailer >>> renting an apartment, IMO

You had cable in your trailer? You must have lived at the rich end of my trailer park.

For sure. My brother lives in a trailer. And it’s not terrible. Very comfortable for him. But that’s his choice. More power to him. That’s what he wanted. That’s what he did.

I’m talking about the dirt poor MFers that sit in the porch all day with no jobs and drink their Milwaukee’s Best from 10-10.

Two totally different sets of people.

I agree. At least you'll get something when you sell it, and it's yours.

It was a bit rhetorical.

OP is trash.

people are so stupid about electricity. That wont kill you.

sounds more like a floor problem than an underpinning problem.

How do storage container homes compare to trailers, trashy or cool?

My wife and I want to build something like this on our property on the north shore.
