Its not ignorant at all. Not to say all foreigners are not vaccinated but many are coming from countries/poor areas without access to proper health care and they are bringing in all kinds of stuff.
Tens of thousands of Americans travel internationally every day. Tens of thousands of non-Americans travel here, legally, every day. The exposure to disease strains from outside of the U.S. herd happens all day, every day.
Why are you so focused on "illegals infiltrating our country?" That's just stupid.

I wasn't the one who Brought up the illegals/immigrants but even more reason to get vaccinations though

It needs to be mandatory. If you’re not vaccinating your kids you’re putting other people’s children at risk, which should be a crime. Anti vaxers are fricking idiots.
I get real weird about this both ways.
1) you should vaccinate your children. I see kids in my practice. I tell parents this
2) the government shouldn't make medical decisions for you.
3) I will fire you as a patient if you don't vaccinate your kids.
I'm all for both vaccination and also, in this case (I suppose most), personal liberty. But I'm not putting up with the shite you bring through the door if you want to disagree with something as settled as vaccination and can't have you exposing other people in my waiting room.
I need to write a strongly worded letter to anti-vaccine parents. But they're fairly rare in my experience. Vaccine-hesitant folks are usually convinced within about two sentences. True anti-vaccine folks are unconvincable and it also has become evident very quickly in our conversations.

This whole thing with the anti-vaccination crowd began, I think, with that completely bogus "study" by that fraudulent quack Andrew Wakefield who claimed that vaccinations increased the chances of autism. The "study" has long since been discredited but unfortunately, there are a lot of people who still buy into it. Thanks to people like Wakefield and Jenny McCarthy, childhood diseases have made a big comeback.

That said, Vaccinating your children and getting the flu shot is comparing apples to oranges
You're absolutely right.
Before the measles vaccine, about 500 Americans a year would die from it.
The CDC says so.
The flu kills over 12,000 Americans per year.
The CDC again with their pesky facts.
It's no contest, really.

Remember when you got Polio as a kid? Of course not your Parents were smart enough to have you vaccinated
And if you don't vaccinate your kids you're a fricking idiot, with all due respect

I agree. Needs to be mandated by law.

As I said in my first post...

Understatement. It was entirely withdrawn from publication, and the author had his license removed because he intentionally lied about data and manipulated it.

The problem is these parents can get a release from a school easily and it not be made public. I would fricking kill someone if they gave my kid a midevil disease over some internet shite.

Imho, Wakefield should have served time in prison for the harm that he did, not only lose his medical license.

OK, let me rephrase that to what I initially intended. People who don't get flu shots because they feel they have a high immune system should not be compared with people who don't get their kids vaccinated because they think it causes autism.
Not that either is making a good decision. However the latter option is going to destroy our herd immunity. While it is theoretically possible to create herd immunity with the flu, it would be extremely difficult

My sister.
No GMO, no gluten, everything is bad for you and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Red Bull? Bad!
Bang cause no sugar? Bad!
Coffee black? BAD cause pesticides!
Water? Bad cause chemicals in plastic bottles.
It’s exhausting having a conversation about food or drink.
I don’t dare to get into vaccines.

I believe in explaining the risks of vaccines to your kids and letting them decide. Obviously you have to wait until they're a couple of years old, but why not let them decide what to do with their own bodies? This year our 4 year old opted in and our 6 year old declined. We respect their autonomy.

I love the folks that talk about the money being made on vaccines as evidence that it is unnecessary or dangerous.
"Look at the profit these big pharma companies are turning! Because we are sheep and vaccinate everyone blindly!"
Okay, because the two are mutually exclusive. If vaccinations are so important, companies wouldn't be making money off them.

Think about a kid lying in an iron lung due to polio====if you can even find one that is in operation.

I agree with this, but they already tell you what you can and can’t put in your bodies (i.e. drugs) why not enforce something that ensures a healthy population?
