What ever happened to that crazy old bastard Beejon?

Dude said he opened a portal to hell and fought demons off with spirit swords.

I kept up with that post from start to finish. Stayed up late that night reading the comments and maybe even commenting in it. I'm not saying Beejon was right or that he was a nut... But I will say that thread was a Tigerdroppings classic. I couldn't find it a few months ago when I checked. From memory, I think it started because of someone's recliner being haunted or something. Either way, some real good stuff in there.

My wife and I were the first owners of a brand new home. Not saying it is haunted but we do have a lot of strange occurrences there such as crazy dreams and wife hearing things in the middle of the night. I have had to do a house sweep a couple of times at 2 AM b/c she claims something is here. Lights in bedrooms and ceiling fans going on and off by themselves. It is creepy when you are home by yourself and trying to nap and your bedroom light comes on. Light bulbs do not last long at our house.

When we first moved there our dog was acting very strange. He was very sociable. We would be in the living room or kitchen and our dog kept going into our master bedroom. He did not have his doggie bed in there nor had he ever slept in our room ever. I would search the house for him and he would be standing in our master bedroom in the middle of the room in the dark. Just standing there motionless. It was creeping my wife out so I shut the door to the hallway so he could not go back there. Then he started going to the door and standing perfectly still with his nose touching the hallway door. Just completely out of character for a barking energetic dog.

Edit:

Just forgot. To add to my above post. The other day it was 11 pm and I was the only one up unwinding down watching TV. My kid was sleeping in our room with my wife on one side of the house. Then all of a sudden my little kid’s toys start going off in the playroom on the other side of the house. Creepy. I go back there and the room light is off. I turn it on and it’s his push cart playing music and nothing is touching it and it only makes sounds if the buttons are pushed. Yeah, that kind of freaked me out.

Never had reason to believe in ghosts. Would watch all the ghost shows to receive a good scare or to laugh at the absurdity of it all.

Then my MIL passed away and a few years later we had a kid. That's when the idea of ghosts or the afterlife didn't seem so weird.

It first started while me and the wife were watching tv in the living room. Suddenly a chair in the dining room turns 180 degrees. Scared the shite out of us. I investigated it; maybe I had the chair at a weird angle and it slid.

When my son was old enough to talk well, he started telling us stories about Granny Yvonne, and my wife's brother.
My son never met his grandmother. Sure he heard us talk about her, but we never told him that my wife had a brother she never met. He passed before she was born.

He would go on an on about Yvonne being in heaven with her son. Sometimes's he'd even run into our room in the middle of the night scared at something. Makes the hair stand-up on the back of my neck sometimes.

My mother-in-law is a demon. Does that count?

Too many strange events that can not be explained.

I have more stories about current house. I keep telling my wife we need to go but she has sentimental feelings to the house.

Funniest post I've ever read on here.

Well, I've never seen one. I have known some people who've claimed to witness some things they could not explain- and were what I would consider rational people.

So I guess I'm on the fence, until I see some type of proof.

As for the evil part, I maintain that it is the living- not the dead- we should concern ourselves with.

I have never seen a ghost personally but know a few people who have. The closest thing I got is when my granddad died from lung cancer. He was a huge duck hunter and one of my mom's kind friends made these dolls using the fabric of one of his favorite hunting jackets.

Obviously he was a heavy smoker hence the lung cancer. Well a couple weeks after the funeral me and my mom are in the kitchen telling funny stories about him (she took the death very hard and this was my way of making her feel better) and we both started smelling a very strong scent of cigarettes.

We look all through the house to see where it is coming from and could not find it. I grabbed the doll to see if the cigarette smell was coming from the doll since the smell could be in the fibers but it didn't smell like it at all. This smelled like someone was in the room smoking right next to us. Nobody in our family smoked other than him. Crazy shite.

My granddad also was in a very vivid dream of mine a couple months after my best friend drowned. They were both big fisherman and in my dream my granddad drove up to my house in his old dodge truck with my friend in the passenger seat and said "we are going fishing, I will take care of him".

I kept on and on asking him can I go because I guess I missed them both so much and he just kept saying "We will take you next time". I woke up with my face just covered in tears. I struggled with my friend's death up until that dream and that dream alone gave me the closure I needed. Not a day goes by I don't wish I would have taken more fishing trips with those two!

We live in an older house. We have a security camera in the living room that records when it detects motion when the alarm is set. One night it recorded something passing from right to left across the camera. It wasn't a clear image, but some kind of blurry thing or shadow that passed across the screen. It was enough to set of the motion detector in the camera.

We have a guest bedroom in the old part of the house that is rarely used. Several times the wife and I have used the room when the A/C was out in the other part of the house. I swear that heard children laughing in the middle of the night several times, but I could not be sure if it was just a dream.

In the master bath I've heard loud thuds or what sounded like kids or my wife talking outside the bathroom when the shower and fan are running in the bathroom. Open the door and look around and no one is home. Also I have felt these cold waves in that same bathroom. I go and check the A/C thinking it must have clicked on, but it's not running.

None of it has ever really bothered me, but it's been weird enough to raise an eyebrow. That said, I still don't think that I believe in "ghosts" in the traditional sense.

When I was a kid I was home alone one night saw the door knob on the front door start to half turn and stop several times, so I figure maybe my parents came back from their trip early and got up to let them in. I opened the door and no one was there. I walked around outside for a bit and didn't see anyone. Whatever/whoever it was didn't trigger the motion light or cause the neighbor's dogs to bark. My parents didn't get home until the next day. Needless to say I was scared shitless all night.
