Who has a separate phone they use for work?

Going to a company that gives the option to provide a company phone or let me use my personal. I’ve always used my personal phone for work. For those that have a separate phone for work, what do you like and/or dislike about it?

It can double as a free burner phone.

Does that mean you're on call 24/7? If not then it's nice to be able to leave the work phone in your dresser and know you don't have to worry about being interrupted. If you're on call 24/7 then it just means you gotta carry two phones at all times. I prefer to just have a Google voice line or comparable on my personal phone that I can mute when I'm not required to have it but there's not really much difference otherwise except having to carry both

Did it for a while.
Good: put #2 phone on a separate carrier and even separate platform. If you are in support (see username) it will help you support both.
Bad: having to carry two phones.
Insert "I still miss my Blackberry".

I didn’t like carrying two phones on me so I’d transfer the work calls to my personal cell. That’s all got.

How much do you value your privacy? Because if you’re using the company phone for personal use, you have to assume they can see pretty much everything you’re doing with it, including all that midget pron.

I've always had two phones like Kevin Gates. Not for the plug but in case I get deposed for litigation, which has already happened. Usually they'll just image the phone, but there's no guarantee they'll just take work related stuff so I like keeping work and personal life separate.

Side piece always gets only the work phone number

I'm an Android guy and my work requires a separate iPhone which they pay for. Now I have both, it is pretty frustrating. They look similar but work very differently. My last job just gave a stipend for my personal phone bill, I prefer that greatly.

I would keep my personal phone for personal use. I would only use the work phone for work related things.

That’s what I’m leaning towards now. I think I’d hate having to keep up with two phones.

I have $15 deducted from my pay each month; thus my company phone is my personal phone. I see no point in having to lug two phones around.

I had a work cell for my last company. Hated carrying two phones.

I dont mind having 2 phones. I dont want any of my work shite carrying over to my personal phone. On weekends I can just put the work phone away and not worry about anything on it until Monday. Cant do that if you use your personal for work.

I used to do the separate work/personal phones but switched 2 years ago.
Prefer having just the one. My main reasoning before was being able to “disconnect”, but that hasn’t really been an issue since I switched.

Carrying two damn phones is enough to dislike. I was using my personal phone when the company changed email security and I had to get a company phone just so I could access email on it. I never told anybody the number and never made a call on it.

I hated having to carry 2 phones but the ROI from being able to set that phone down and walk away was well worth it.
Also this-

put #2 phone on a separate carrier and even separate platform.

I was deployable so we had a phone. Used that sucker for everything and claimed “work”. No way I want work calling my personal phone.

We have an option for a work phone or a reimbursement for a personal phone. I am having to constantly take pictures and have different apps on my phone for work and my phone performance has went to shite faster than my last marriage so I just requested a company provided phone.

I don’t like having work on my personal, although cloud access is easy.
I hated having two phones.
