If it is a mutual couple friend, I attend because I’m happy for them. If it’s just my wife’s friend, only she goes. Seems like a pretty simple rule to follow.

This. The last one I went to, the guys all were drinking, grilling, and having a good time while the women gossiped and ate finger sandwiches. Really wasn’t bad.

I've never been to a baby shower. Not even my own kids. My wife is good like that!

Just to keep this in perspective...The parents don't typically throw their own shower. The host(s) will ask the honoree what kind of party she wants. So, the style is absolutely dictated by the mama-to-be and possibly her husband.

A husband has to say "yes" in some way to make any of this happen. So, blame the men on this one.

I had the traditional mid-day coffee/champagne/girly food deal with only ladies, as the good Lord intended.

You gotta spin this around to your advantage.

Make it a pig roast or grill some steaks and have the wide screen on the patio so yall can watch the games.

If a pool is available have the ladies in swim attire. Some music and ice cold drinks.

Use your Brains.

I went to one once... it was for my sister. I was single at the time and wanted to see what was up with her friends.

men going to baby showers

What "man" doesn't have the balls to say they don't want to go?

Like others have said, if you're in a real relationship then saying you don't want to go isn't an issue.

Baby showers are boring and tedious. Inviting the men to drink beer basically fixes both issues.

My son is getting married in a couple weeks. My daughter is the Brides maid and threw them a couples shower at our house. I had planned on going and hanging out with my son that day thinking it was just a normal shower. My wife explained to me that it was a couples shower and I would need to be there.
I was there but she didn’t like it. Fired up the smoker first thing that morning, put the game on the TV on back patio. As the guest showed up I would quietly direct the guys to the safe space outside. She was pissed I had all the guys outside watching football and throwing down on pulled pork and sausages.

What is this? I'm suspecting it doesn't involve strippers with chaffed bottoms.

Women of course.

It’s turned into a day for women to lampoon their husbands or baby daddies or whatever. Hard pass.

What? Honestly, if you (and others like you) aren't trolling, I feel badly for you. You're either completely miserable people, or you're married to (or dating) completely miserable shrews. It's no way to go through life.
