My dad used to say he wished gas would go to $20 gallon so there would not be so many dumb asses on the road.

I just think you don't understand basic economics

Full disclosure, I'm an O&G baw and while the price of fuel does not cause me any heartburn I certianly am well aware of it's effect on the US economy. The "recovery" has been primarily driven by low energy prices and it can be derailed very easily.
We still have a 10 million barrel deficit that is made up by imports, the difference in $50 and $100 per BBL is a net loss of 500 million per day to our economy.
Looking forward we need to keep ramping up production until we become a net exporter for the good of the nation.

Calling out you’re illogical thought process is well warranted.
I get the impression this isn’t the direction you thought your thread would go.

My “illogical thought” had nothing to do with macro economics.
I really don’t care how this thread goes...... kinda like how many fricks I give about gas prices

Yeah it does. I’m pretty sure every economist would call you a retard and accuse you of being someone who has never been middle/lower class or run a business. You’re an entitled retard who has no concept of how the economy works.

Back when gas prices were high and I realized I spent $600 in one month on gas, I absolutely changed how I was doing things. When I spent $200 on gas in my boat each time I took it out, yeah I started taking it out less and eventually sold it because I couldn't justify the cost anymore.
My wife and I do pretty well for ourselves, but we don't throw our money around like we are retarded either. If gas prices double, absolutely we will cut down on road trips. As it stands now we take 3 to 4 road trips per year that are around 700 miles each way.
That said, I don't spend jack on gas. I average about 3000 miles per year on my truck. I'm lucky to have a company vehicle and a gas card.

It really has everything to do with both macro and micro economics.

There’s nothing informative about this post. It’s just drunk thoughts from an idiot without any actual support. Thanks for your “thoughts.”

I know there’s a high bar, but is geauxcats10 now our dumbest poster? It’s a high bar, but he’s making a good case.

You're pretty dumb too so I wouldn't be puffing your chest too much bubba

You sound like an entitled little snot.

I actually agree with the OP as I’m going to pay for gas no matter what it cost. Got to have it.
I understand some families may cut out or reduce a vacation but driving to work isn’t going to decrease.

I require a smartphone for work.
Hard to get map apps on an Alcatel analog phone.

Of gas was $5 a gallon I would seriously consider taking the train into work.

It could, and they would 100% change their behavior.

I have to have it to go to work to make money so it’s basically a sunk cost.
Probably already been said at this point, but that's not what a sunk cost is.

The market can’t support 100 dollar a gallon gas. That will never happen. I doubt the market can support 10 dollar a gallon gas. Before we got that that point every libtard in the country would be screaming “drill baby drill”.

Well that's not what you said, and when it was pointed out that there would be less bought, you said there wouldn't. That's why your a retard. Of course people aren't going to stop buying gas.
