I don’t understand how you can’t read the signs. I see them everyday and I know how to read so yes I notice.

Pretty much. This whole thread is just a subtle brag thread for him.

No they won't. People just don't advertise it. Oh my fav lunch spot costs more now? Just go somewhere else.
That's what normal people do.

Message Who actually cares how much a gallon of gas cost? by NoHoTiger quote: I’d love to know your price point on which you would stop buying food because rising gas prices increases the costs of consumer goods. Eggs at $3 a dozen is a no go for us. We haven’t bought eggs in several weeks because that price is just ridiculous. Ground meat at $4.59 a pound means no ground meat that week. Add in almost $4 a gallon gas and we are really feeling it out here.
Get a chicken coop... you will be giving away eggs.
Buy a half or whole cow at the slaughter house depending on the size of your family. Enough beef for an entire year.
Plus subsidize with deer, duck, squirrel, and rabbit meat plus fish that you harvest yourself throughout the year.
Plant a garden.
Then you would just be buying certain stuff at grocery store prices instead of the whole shebang.

You are an idiot.

All very easy to do considering she lives in LA

It's amazing how many people cant understand this.
Price goes up, I may fill up only what I know I need to accomplish my tasks instead of filling it up.
I will spend more time at home instead of driving different places.
My habits will change based on this.
Trust me, I completely understand that. Everyone's personal financial situation will dictate how they go about it. No one is the same. Its really as simple as that. No matter what, we will all pay whatever the price is. May not buy as much, but you will pay whatever the number is. That's why bitching about the price is stupid to me. Buying gas is a fact of life.
Im not an OT baller by a long fricking shot. Im middle of the pack at best, but I know ill never have to limit my fuel intake to what I know I need to get my shite done. Ill never check the price at the pump and cancel my plans because the number was too high, and I chose to run 93 in my wrangler. However, I can completely understand where some might. Again, personal financial situations are what is key here.
I just hate the constant bitching at us who work in the industry, like we have a say so in the cost. We just want to put food on our family's table just like the rest of you. Of course we dont want prices sky high. We have to buy it too. But I dont see how its hard for anyone else to understand why those of us out here might get a little excited and be able to breathe a sigh of relief when we see our industry begin to come back up.

That doesn’t really fly in the city limits of Los Angeles. Not to mention we don’t really have the storage space for half a cow. We have a garden. But we also have rather sandy soil. So lots of things don’t grow well here.
You don’t have to be such a jerk. You asked who notices the price of gas. Lots of us. You asked price points to stop buying certain things, that’s what I gave you. Sometimes you make a adjustments based on things outside of you control. I don’t control the price of gas or food. I do control what I spend my money on. We have to work in an obviously more limited budget than you and others, so that’s what we do.

I don’t see how I am. The things I listed are things I do to keep other costs in my life down. I didn’t realize you lived in LA or I never would’ve suggested those things.
I haven’t name called one person on here Unlike some people who disagree with me.
It’s funny to me that people are defensive when other people are in different situations then themselves. They sorta remind me of liberals who want to impose their belief systems on everyone else who isn’t like them.

Exactly. Like I said, its all about personal situation.
No one is right here and no one is wrong.

You are arguing against basic economics based on your own personal situation. I make a lot more money than any plant operator, but I'm not an idiot so I realize the economic impact of high gas prices even if there's no material impact on my own life.
Posted on 5/13/18 at 4:22 pm to geauxcats10
Let's say increased gas prices cost a family 2 dollars a day.
365 X 2 = 730
That's multiple round trip plane tickets.

It really is astonishing how ignorant they are. I want to just give up, but I can't understand how this is that difficult to understand.
