Illinois/Michigan is a possibility ... It's a long way to the northern most point of the upper peninsula.. They are really really close but don't border just South of Lake Michigan.

I've driven every inch of that, I'm sad and proud to say. Not on a single trip.
Want to make it farther... Take the bridge to padre and head up the island.

The two states that are "farthest apart" and that do not share a border are either Maine and Hawaii or Florida and Alaska or something like that. The three that are closest together without sharing a border are New York/Rhode Island (2 miles or so), New Jersey/Connecticut (~12 miles) and Massachusetts/Maine (~15 miles). No state meets both criteria.

You can't understand a simple concept?

Like you can't understand a simple operation.

You're embarrassing north Louisiana, go back in your trailer.

I don't think you understand the concept of a "point" in geometry. There is not "side" to share and that point is infinitely small, meaning you could technically zoom in forever at that point and there would never be an actually border that they share. They mathematically share nothing.

Maine and Massachusetts are 20 miles apart which is narrower than the Oklahoma panhandle and the Idaho panhandle. I don't see how anyone is going to convince me those two states are the farthest apart.
Florida and Alaska don't share a border and Key West is pretty damn far from Point Barrow.

That's gotta be it if we are looking at delta.

No, the diagonal pairs don't share borders. There is exactly 0.000repeating length of border between each of them.
Doesn't matter if they "touch" or not, OP said share a border.

This. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been in all four of those states at the same time.
