This is America, speak English mother fricker.
Units don't matter.
They still show the relative distance.
Nowhere in the US can you get that distance without the distance between sucking up your delta spread.

WTF? Two states that border the same state but not each other?
Louisiana, New Mexico
California, Washington (San Diego-Canadian Border)
CO/WY border to TX/Mexican border is pretty far as you said

Does anyone else want to punch this thread in the face?

Maine and Massachusetts are separated on their Atlantic coastlines only by about a 20-mile stretch of New Hampshire. Have no idea how far apart their most distant points are, though.

Alaska to Montana may be farther just glancing at a map. You get more benefit of east to west.

Alaska Texas has a 4300 km difference. Check my math.

You need to consider that your map is skewed approaching northern (higher latitudes). You need to look at the country on a sphere or a special kind of map that removes that skewing effect of a 3D surface printed on a 2D plane.

I can get approximately 4050km, which is 2515 miles, as the delta between the closest and furthers cities in Alaska and Texas, so that would supplant AK and California.
