I have a 5…but I’d rather rent an 8 or a 4.

I ain't gonna tell another grown man what to do but a banzai run of 200+ in a Hellcat is a very iffy thing. This is even more true if you aren't just looking for an indicated 200 but a true GPS 200. Take a look at the body of that car, it isn't a 200+ mph hypercar with lots of downforce front and rear it is just a rocket. Above 180 you are going to have very little control and a desert wind gust could alter the arc of your life. If you do attempt it check that it has OEM or equivalent rubber on all 4 wheels you don't want to find out at 180+ the rental company put on lower spec tires when someone returned it with the rear tires melted from burnouts. As for pre-flight checks at a minimum check and correct the tire pressures on all 4 corners. Also, don't be surprised if the rental company doesn't have all of these cars set up with GPS trackers that ping them when you are doing something really "silly" with their cars. It is SOP now for exotic rentals not sure how far it has trickled done.

Keep in mind from 0-60 the BMW is going to be quicker and that is true for the 1/4 as well along with trapping slightly higher. It is also going to be earlier to launch and be more repeatable. The Hellcat will sound faster though.

The rest of the time the BMW has a 80k car interior where the Hellcat has a $40k car interior. But the heart wants what the heart wants.

I don't know much about the Weistec kits for Mercs other than occasionally seeing them discussed on forums. I would say if I was shooting for 1000+ hp with a M157 I would rebuild the bottom end. Sleeves, pistons, and con rods at a minimum for durability unless you just plan to frame the dyno results from the tuner and never access that power.

Add in the early Dodge Viper in place of the Lambo and you have the unholy trinity of death in inexperienced hands.

The M5 no question. BTW, our family vacation last summer started in Vegas.
I can't stress it enough... DO THIS DRIVE. HWY 64 east to HWY 89 North.
It is breath-takingly INCREDIBLE. Even if you don't stop off to walk over to Horseshoe Bend(that is a tourist destination in itself), the landscapes visible from the car are unreal. Add this to your itinerary.

Will do, thank you. I don't drink or gamble, and don't really care to see Vegas. This is more my speed.

The cheapest rental car that gets the best gas mileage.

Any car can reach amazing speeds when it is a rental car.

All day every day. Not even a close second out of those three, and I don't really have anything against the other two.
