those women are going to have a hard time finding a suitable spouse to match their standards and income levels later in life

none of those people ever lives=d in slave quarteres unless it was an expensive condo in new orleans.
hell it would probably take them to go back 5-6 generations to get to an actual slave relative.

Friend of mine got a 29 on his ACT and didn't qualify for a scholarship and at the time couldn't afford LSU. Son of a single mother, school bus driver.
While our highschool classmate, African American girl whose father was a Doctor got the same scholarship with a 27. The threshold was 30 for white, 26 for black.
She got it and didn't need it with a lower score than the guy who needed it.
Guy ended up becoming a police officer instead, hating life as he had to deal with horrible people, was finally able to go back to college years later and was able to quit the police force.
At our reunion, she was a stay at home mom. Scholarship put to great use.
Our government actively promotes discrimination
Isn’t it lovely?

Do you believe we should continue implementing affirmative action?

I don't quite understand your comparison. Are there numerous instances of people today virtue signaling about how they overcame the hardships of their ancestors living in the confederacy?
Absolutely. How many times have you heard "The South Will Rise Again"? There are plenty of folks whose self-identity revolves around a side that lost a war over 150 years ago and feel anger toward northerners to this day because of their heritage and the values they feel that it held.

Please go on. Tell me how folks celebrating ancestors that were killed by the North is any different than black folks celebrating ancestors that were killed by the South.

There isn't a single medical school in the United States of America that discriminates against applicants on the basis of race

I think you can look at the pic several ways.
I look at it as a group rising from poverty/slavery to success and acceptance. Yeah America.

I just fail to see how 22-28 yr olds are affected by slavery.
Well, when you consider that oppression of black people extended well beyond slavery and into the 1960's with Jim Crow laws, maybe it's easier to see? These folks are only a couple of generations removed from that.
But I think this is just more an honor to their heritage and a display to show how far their race has come in this country.

This is how I see it. I dont know why it angers some. Black folks were treated like absolute dog shite less that 100 years ago. Let these people take a damn picture. Its really not a big deal.

The ironic thing to me is that, while it seems that the intent of the photo op was to emphasize "overcoming adversity," the visceral message portrayed is one of the overwhelming opportunity this country affords today to all races and genders. If I were president, that picture would be placed in a prominent location in the White House to signify just how great America is now.

That seems rather inappropriate. Smiling at slave quarters.

Yikes, time for the OP to do some soul searching...
Ever wonder why you spend your free time hating on people who accomplish things in their life?
I think you know the answer.
Show yourself and the world some love and respect.

Do you have proof they were only admitted because of it?
While affirmative action sucks, you can't assume all black students benefited from it. Many were admitted with high GPAs and MCATs just like the other applicants.
