the masses who won't be able to own anything, and they will instead be forced to rent from companies like BlackRock.
They’ll be used as providers for government issued housing. No one “pays” rent, they’re instead qualified for different housing tiers based on a social credit system.
No one “buys” groceries, but are instead allotted quantities and qualities of goods based on their social credit.
There’s no cash. We’re already nearing that point.

Now we can talk about how much rent and ownership are needs, or how much vehicle is a need, or how much insurance coverage is a need, but unless we want to drop our standards of living by about 200 years these are all basic needs.
Don't think we have to go quite that far, but there is a large segment of society that should be having some difficult discussions. Especially when you consider how many Americans were living beyond their means before this mass inflation started

So explain to me how that would impact those of us who already own a home and are lucky enough to not rent? I agree this is where we're headed, but don't understand where current homeowners would stand

The Dems will step in and say that the answer is UBI. At that point, many Americans will have no choice but to support it.

Maybe the United States itself was the ultimate bait and switch. Make it the best country in the world, everyone who has the means can move here, all other countries turn to shite, then turn the U.S. to shite. Now there’s nowhere else to go.
The US is the last domino of freedom to fall. I would say that by the end of this decade we will be toast short of a mass awakening.

1. Wait for the existing homeowners to die and take the property afterwards if the children don’t take it.
2. Set up government housing like Section 8 in existing neighborhoods of homeowners, which increases crime and will force residents to sell to companies like BlackRock.
3. Pack the Supreme Court with the Justices you want, and then have them validate the government’s use of the Takings Clause in the Constitution to straight up seize your property for what they would call the greater good.

Probably too late in this thread to post this to have too many people pay attention, but it’s about to happen…
I’m in the transportation business. Most of our customers have annual RFPs out right now, and because freight demand has crashed, and there are empty trucks around, freight rates are about to nosedive. I’m talking 30%-40%, which will have a profound impact on the landed cost of retail/grocery goods. Shippers/manufacturers will pass along savings to consumers and the bubble will burst.
By the end of Q2, life will get less expensive.

WTF are you even talking about?
People are getting squeezed by a federal government that's fleecing their tax dollars and your thoughts are on Vladimir Putin?

I would also say communication and broadband access qualifies as a basic need, and cell phone handles everything you need.
I’d gladly get rid of this.

Wrong .
There are several places left on Earth to live that are beautiful and MUCH cheaper than the good ole USA.. of course, no place is perfect though.. just have to do the research , and of course need to have the balls to leave Bunkie or wherever the hell you live, and cant just be lazy and shiftless .

These high prices are not just in the USA. Ireland, Scotland, England etc are all high as hell too.
Not only are prices high, you are getting less in some places. Just went to a bar yesterday and a pint of Guiness was $7 and it wasn't even in a pint glass. More like a 12oz glass. Same bar 2 years ago had a proper pint glass and guiness was around $5.50-$6.00

So every other expert on here continues to beat the drum that inflation is going to continue to rise off the charts, but you are predicting deflation.

I’ll doubt this part until I see it.

Dave Ramsey says to eat a lot of rice in that situation.

Remember when the OT thought Australia was the greatest place on the planet because of some internet memes that went around about it being conservative and led by a "true Christian"?

Off top of my head- Belize, Costa Rica, parts of Mexico.. Ecuador, Panama, Colombia (there’s a guy who posts here who’s an expat in Colombia and loves it, cant remember his handle).. even cheaper than that - Indonesia (Bali), Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines .
Again, not saying any of these places are Valhalla or anyhting, just better options than the US right now and for the foreseeable future .
