When will cargo shorts die off?

Being around family this weekend I noticed every middle aged or older man was still sporting the cargos. The big bulky pockets looked like they have never been used and the shorts themselves look to weigh 20lbs with all the heavy fabric.
....and are cargo shirts or jackets the next thing? Seems like all of the new windbreakers or pullovers have that stupid looking pocket on the sleeve which I'm sure never gets used.

I like them on vacations, it's like wearing a man purse. I can have spare batteries for my phone, a back up charger, a camera, spare camera battery, extra money hidden away, and even snacks.

What is everyone's problem with what type of shorts other people wear. Get a fricking life people, stop letting something as trivial as the next guys shorts ruin your day. Stop posting all over the internet about peoples shorts. Grow the frick up.

I like pockets on my shorts. Helps me carry supplies that won't fit in my fanny pack.

Everyone talking about not caring what another man wears, do you just not judge anyone at all? If a guy strolls out in high heels and a banana hammock, you just shrug it off and say "man can wear what he wants, I don't care. Who am I to judge". This is a board dedicated to commenting and bitching about the most trivial of things. Your "I don't care what another man wears" shtick is not valid here.
I judge people. It's one of my favorite things to do. I'm not ashamed of it. When I see cargo shorts, I think man-child. I always have a sneaking suspicion that they are headed back to their house to play video games.
