I'm not saying we will have a failure this year. No one can talk in absolutes. Can't say that it won't either.
I can say everyday this current rise is looking better right now.

This is a long thread & don't want to rehash it. I don't feel like arguing with everybody again. It is a big deal. BC & M spillway opening this early has never happened. I live 2 miles from the river & have a hydraulic display in my back yard. The river rising this quick slams the levees.
I wasn't trespassing. I have permission for both sides of the levees.
Yeah I messed up on that. 1st time videoing around waves. I could probably take a few guys out there that are interested. If you fall & I'm going to assume that your trying to sue. I'll just shoot you with my 45 & kick you in the river. Haha just kidding haha

Well the crawfish might not be there then. That Mississippi water coming down is cold as hell. All of my crawfishing has been done in the Dugdemona Swamp.

Wife's dad had a stroke & hasn't been hunting this year. She needed help getting him set up. So he is in my stand, she is in hers, & I'm sitting in a lawn chair on the side of a field. Only way I see a deer is if it's lost or sick. I going to throw out a couple traps & see if they are there tomorrow. I'll check them that evening & report back. I never crawfished that area before. I don't see why they shouldn't be.
As the forcast drops the day the Morganza opens will push back. As of now "Wednesday". A lil more rain feel with last front than what was expected. It rained all the way up to Canada.
& why would they open the Morganza 1st? There has many years the Bonnet Carre was opened that the Morganza wasn't utilized. Not sure on ratio, but I'd imagine it's at least 2 - 1 ratio. It's not like they just make this stuff up as they go.
