Xmas
Let’s keep Christ in Christmas.
“X” is “Chi” the Greek letter for Christ.
How do people not know this?

I have a pretty big display, so I start the end of September. Nothing much, just lights in trees and bushes that no one can see. On November 1st, stuff starts going in the yard to be ready for Thanksgiving night. Lights are on from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Lights off the first week in January.

The Greeks believed in sex gods. Not Jesus. Do you know what else X stands for? Canceled.

Lights are going on the roof tomorrow. My wife is working next weekend and I need her here to keep an eye on the kids. Won't turn them on until next weekend.

I put it up a few days before Christmas, and they come down on the 26th.

I usually start after Halloween, only come on for testing before Black Friday. Black Friday is when I turn them on every night.
It takes me awhile to put up when I do it since I have a lights to music setup.

Do you know what language was one of the first versions of the Bible?

My landscape crew also does Christmas lights - they are getting busier every year but they always get them up sometime between Halloween and Thanksgiving.
They put them up today, and they’re proudly lit right now. F the haters. I can still enjoy Thanksgiving week with Christmas lights on at night.

Done same every year (except in 2010 when Iron Bowl was played on Friday after Thanksgiving and we were enjoying watching Cam suck the soul out of Bryant Denny):
Friday:
- I put up outside lights, door garland, & wreaths during day
- Wife puts up inside decorations and makes garland for mantles
- We Put up “formal tree” in foyer and
- We Put up “kids tree” in theater/media room
- Take the family truckster to get the real tree
- Real tree goes up and lights out on
- All lights inside and out are turned on at 4:45 PM on Friday after Thanksgiving
Watch football on Saturday and decorate tree as a family (usually during 2nd half of Iron Bowl if it’s an away game. If we are at the game, we will decorate family tree on Sunday afternoon
