Not until I went out on my own in my industry and was self employed. Did that for 5 years and never made under $100,000. Left self employment world 2 years ago for a salaried position in another state, making a lot less. Wife (no pics) re-entered the work force so we could do that and the quality of life has been much, much better, even though we have less money.

29 or 30.

It felt harder to get to 100k than to get to 200k. My work life balance is a wreck sometimes. I need to slow down before I die.

22 just out of college. Ended up taking a pay cut for a better way of life. Still over six figures just less and I couldn’t be happier with the decision.

Aren’t you a DBA or solutions architect? You should be making way more than $90K/yr

Since this thread has remained on track and everyone has remained civil, I’ll participate

I was 26 after 8 years of higher education. I was paid at 2 different offices by the same company as if each were my only job

When my income was added together, it threw me in a different tax bracket. I owed Sam 10 grand

I was in my 20's, and late one night while doing bong hits and eating frosted flakes, I saw Don Lapre's Money Making Machine.

So I bought it. I posted a single, tiny, classified ad. 3 weeks later, the first check arrived. It was over $5,000.00. So I posted another tiny classified ad.

I soon had ads running all over the country. I was a millionaire by 28.

Changed my life.

Hell, my wife and I combined would probably never hit a six figure salary.

Late 20’s. People in the same industry now cross that barrier in their early 20’s. Just crossed $250k in my mid 40’s. Had to get in to leadership. Will have to go independent to actually get rich one day. But will have to work more than 35 hours a week.

I hit six figures thirty years ago. Was 31 years old. And at that time $100K was a lot of money.

It's a thread about 100k+ earners. Self selection

23 - First full year out of college. Industrial Construction with per diem.

10 years later, I crossed the $200k mark.

I had some great financial advice just starting out and maxed out all my retirement accounts early in my career.

29. In government civil service. I don't care what anybody says- that's an achievement when you're not some political appointee or benefit of some connection.

2018 or so. Left Baton Rouge in 2014 barely making 60K. Just for emphasis, Louisiana sucks.
