31, but it honestly took my contracting company putting me in charge of reporting my hours and seeing the rate they charged the client.
Realized then I was getting screwed by them, so left and went hourly to a different contractor group doubling my take home pay.
Edit: 60K to 120K by making that move and haven’t looked back

What’s the point of six figure salary if you’re not saving what you earn currently?
Always makes me wonder when I’m on the road and I see a certain demographic drying a 95k truck or 65k car.

6 Figure? C'mon man, this is the OT. 7 figure is more like it. 6 figure is starting salary.

28 years old in the mortgage business (2005)
When that collapsed (2007) I didn't get back over until I was 34 (2012).

2005, weeks after Katrina demolished my house and I took a travel job. I gave myself a 64% raise by switching employers.
Combined with the insurance settlement, Katrina was the best thing that had happened to me financially at the time.

27. Was a mechanic for an offshore O&G company while I was finishing up undergrad. I was tight with the supervisors and had a sweet day bonus on top of my salary so they'd call me out when I had free time to stack some cash.

We're just over $80K combined and we live comfortably. Granted, we don't live in a big city like Baton Rouge.

29. Total comp was just over 100k.
It’s been amazing to watch the growth since then.
161k total comp at 32.
I was making less than $50k out of school at 23.

i started teacher's salary @ $27k in 2007.
the rise was pretty good, but the plateau was hard in the mid 2010s.

30 IT
I worked full time during college for a park and rec department. My first "real" job was a big ol pay raise of 4k bringing me to 40k
