when money was discovered to be made concerning "health"

like George Carlin said - "If you kill all the germs around you and live a completely sterile life, then when germs do come along, you're not gonna be prepared. And never mind ordinary germs. What are you gonna do when some supervirus comes along that turns your vital organs into liquid shite? I'll tell you what you're gonna do. You're gonna get sick, you're gonna die, and you're gonna *deserve it* 'cause you're *fricking* weak and you've got a *fricking* weak immune system!"

Truth. That's why, as a physician, I don't avoid sick people. I only take meds when absolutely necessary and I'm not a clean freak. I'll drink a beer out of the fish ice chest. COVID wasn't shite for me. My dad? The opposite. And the shite took him out. We're only 16 years apart, so it's not like I was really young and he was ancient. I was 47 and he was 63. I don't take flu shots and I don't mask up for sick patients. I'll mask if I'm sick, but not otherwise. Of course, my arse seldom gets sick.

Don't get me wrong. I follow aseptic technique and take all appropriate measures to prevent the spread of disease, but I certainly don't over do it. Like our muscles, brain and everything else, our immune system gets stronger with smaller challenges over time. That's another reason I wait to take meds until I just have to, let my body build a response. If more people did this, we'd be much healthier and healthcare cost would drop.

just don’t go to the wedding

My favorite way to attend weddings is to not go. I do attend bachelor parties though.

In my 40s, I don't take anything unless I really need it. I don't even take Ibuprofen or Tylenol anymore if I get a headache. What I found is that after a period of time doing that I don't really get headaches anymore.

You may be distracted for a second and a picture existing without 100% attention on the bride is just unacceptable.

Sounds like the bride is a narcissistic ho. And I do not own an apple watch.

I’d need a detailed explanation as to why I couldn’t wear my Apple Watch to a wedding.

Yea, there are two psycho situations presented in the OP. Almost need two separate threads.

Just because I didn’t want to seek out some left wing quick therapist to tell my feelings to doesn’t mean I didn’t grieve my dog and take the loss hard. If you want to know the truth I was in a state of depression for almost a year after it. Some therapist reading from a script want gonna make me feel any better and giving me standard answers.

When I die I want to be buried with my dog, that’s why I had him cremated. If you think that’s soft then ok, but I would slap your ancestors and they’d apologize after I did it.

Elon said it years ago, but humans are basically cyborgs now. Taking away these bitch's apple watches is like taking a body part from them.

they would skip the wedding because they NEED their Apple Watch 24/7 to monitor their heart rate, steps, sugar, sodium, "defective nervous system".

I actively track health stats, daily, but there's no way this is true. Maybe one nut job said this.

And also, requiring people to not wear a smart watch? Seriously?

I perused the comment section, there were at least a dozen. Total nutjob behavior. Tracking the heart rate was the most common complaint. Going by the percentages, you'd think half of Americans have resting heart conditions

I went to go pick up some amoxicillin for my GF today. Tiny town. I pull up behind a car with a vanity plate that says, Granny75, that has just pulled up to the window. I just put my car in park, because I know what's coming. Texted GF cracking a joke about it. Little did I know...

Pharmacist gives the lady two bags of pills, I take the car out of park. Lady sits there. 90 seconds later I put it back in park. 4-5 minutes later, the pharmacist, with both hands, gives her at least 8 more bags of pills. I don't get how people live like that.

I didn't say that you didn't take the loss hard.

I've got zero reason to get you to go to a therapist. No reason to lie to you. That's not what therapy is.

Therapy sessions go like this:

"What brings you in"

Then you tell them what brings you in

Then they ask more questions

Then you talk more

Then they ask more questions

Then they give you different perspectives, they reframe your issue, and they try to listen more.

They don't tell you what to do. They don't push drugs on you. In fact, the therapists that I've seen are adamant that they cannot give me direct advice. They give me techniques to help with the underlying issues that are going on.

I don't know how this vendetta against therapy started, but it's counterproductive. Most therapists need a master's degree and then they don't get paid all that much. They aren't broke, but I think the media has warped your perception of a therapist. It's not some high and mighty guy looking down his nose prescribing meds. It's typically a bright empathetic person who wants to use their education to help those in distress.

They’re being fed medical info via those electronic devices. Social Media algorithms are the true devil.
