I think they became popular in Baton Rouge around 1980 or 1981. I bought my first pair in 1978 when they were listed in LL Bean as a "Hunting boot". Only wore them in the rain tho.

In the 80s around campus they were very popular.
I was one of the poor college students that could only afford the knock-offs that KMart sold. I wore them hunting and on rainy days.

Yeah, they've been popular for as long as I can remember.

I don't wear them much, but in college, that was the perfect footwear for cold rainy days while walking to class.

I'd bet good green money that there were more than a couple paisley silk vests in his closet then too.

I sent my old pair back for a repair in September. LL Bean is just going to give me a new pair since these were so screwed up.
I won't get them until January.

Those were my going out clothes. Z Cavarichis, Generra shirt, black reboks. And vest of course.
In winter it'd be a black turtle neck. Golf rope and St Christopher on the outside.

Wait, people wear these........ If it's not raining?
Im about to go wash the car and i have them on. Also cut the grass in them. Hose them down if they get dirty, as I'll wear the same pair with jeans or whatever if it's rainy. Go to Mardi Gras shoe too

Fashionable? I only wear mine when I go clubbing.
Seal hunting is a real sport.

I can sit here today and proudly say I never owned any Zcavaricci. However, I did sport the duckhead khakis. I was that oddball preppy wannabe clubbing amongst those peach fuzzed mustached, vest wearing, drakkar sporting, black zcavarrici attired kingfish zombies.
