At some point, the pirates will stand away and use drones. Hopefully, the ships will have better drones with longer range.

Nah, not with that type of explosion That isn't a gasoline or diesel explosion from a bullet. If this was a real event, I suspect they had explosives onboard, maybe to cripple the ship?

Climb the side.
There a lot of crap hangin on the side of a normal ship. If you're proficient at moderate rock climbing walls you can do it. As shown in other videos, helo infil is another option, but a helo os a valuable asset to risk for these guys. They'll only use that if they're reasonably certain they won't take fire coming in.
Some of them aren't looking to gain access but want to get close enough to either attach an explosive or deploy an submersible explosive near the props/rudders to cripple the ship.

Well that makes no sense. Once they offload and take on more cargo they will have to leave that port/country and be back on the ocean underway to other ports or back home.
My stepdad was a Navigation Officer for Delta Lines for decades and they'd leave N.O. for ports all over the globe, drop off cargo, load back up with cargo and head to other ports before heading back to the U.S. He'd be gone for months at a time at sea.

They could potentially gain access via the pilot access door. They are down closer to the waterline to allow harbor pilots to board and disembark when the ships are approaching port.
If, as someone above me posted, the explosion was the result of hitting some form of explosive on the boat, they may have had something to breach the pilot door.
