Ahh so this is a subtle brag thread.

It’s such a hassle having to understate my sq ft

Why would anyone ask how big my house is. What a weird question.

2300 sq ft w/ 1500 finished basement.

I generally add the basement even though it can’t be listed at 3,800 sq ft.

According to Zillow ours is 2400. It's an older remodeled house that we don't really use half of. It's too big for our family of 3 now to be honest. It was cheaper than a 1600 sq ft new house when we bought it.

I tell the I live in a single wide with soft spots on the floor and only one roof leak. The skirt is all torn up so there are feral cats having litters under my trailer but I let my pit bull clean them out from time to time when I let him off the chain attached to the tree. I keep foil on the windows for energy efficiency and have a 65" Ultra-HDTV with surround sound to watch wrasslin and monster truck pulls.

Your shack had a roof? What, you think you’re better than me?

Well, I say it was a shack. It was a shack to us, but really it was a hole in the ground in a landfill with a rusty piece of tin on top. And every morning we’d have to wake up an hour before the sun came up, clean the landfill, eat a handful of rotting fish, then go to work at the mine for 13 hours for 2 bucks a week. Then when we’d get home our dear old dad would thrash us with a cane until we went to sleep.

But we were happy, because we were poor

I had to walk 8 miles to school and 12 miles back uphill both ways except for the gator filled river we had to swim across.

1,897. I usually say "about 1,900". Although, not many people ask me about that these days. It mostly just came up with family and close friends when we bought the house.

When we first purchased our home, people asked how big it was. No ones asked since.

A guy was looking into a new central air system and he asked what company I had used and the cost. He then asked how many sqft my house was.
