I'm sure that wasn't the original wheel/tire and has likely been changed several times. It's Delta's jawb to put the lug nut on.

^this. People today take no pride in their work. Their sole goal each day is to do the bare minimum necessary so they’re not told at the end of the day to not bother coming back. Then you throw DEI on top of that where they hire woefully unqualified and incompetent people who know they can’t be fired. What you’re left with is a recipe for disaster.

That is most likely a maintenance issue and has nothing to do with Boeing. Unless the plane is almost brand new.

They’ve gone from “If it ain’t Boeing I ain’t going” to “If it’s a Boeing I ain’t going.”

I realize this is likely a Delta maintenance issue but it will rub off on Boeing.

Come on guys we know how to do this shite, get it together.

I had aircraft blow a tire on the runway, but never just come off like that. A T-38 came in hot once did an overhead with a left break and he hit the runway and the tire blew. To have a tire just straight fall off during taxi. That is new.

Flying is an adventure these days. Just flew United last Monday Columbus to Houston, flight ok. Connecting flight Houston to Brownsville, delayed 4 times canceled until Wednesday (weather - cold/ice). Wouldn't give me my luggage, ended up renting a vehicle and drove from Houston to Brownsville, bought some clothes at mall.

Return flight Friday Brownsville to Houston piloted by DEI women who droned on and on about how fast she will fly and get us there early. Departed 15 minutes late, arrived gate 20 minutes late. Typical woman always making guys late. Connecting flight, Houston to Columbus air craft has mechanical problem (a window seal is broken) 4 hour repair delay. Find replacement aircraft, board aircraft, one of the gage panels is malfunctioning, wait an hour on the aircraft for tech guy to show and fix it. Arrive home two hours late.

Driving is becoming a more appealing option these days.

This^^^^^
Boeings management is currently scrabbling to figure out what the hell is going on. (I’ve been informed of this)
But if they were stupid enough to implement DEI they will not be smart enough to end it.

Boeing put that wheel on 20+ years ago. How is that their problem? If you rednecks don’t change the tires on your F250s for 20 years, is that a Ford problem?
