If I remember correctly , I believe there was another crash in San Diego of two planes colliding about this same time

Are they using the DEI process to hire mechanics?
Yes. Know a couple guys who left to work other places because of it. Both got out of the aircraft mechanic business completely. Sucks because Boeing pays and have some of the best benefits.

Don't think for a minute the DEI CANCER is limited to just this industry.

the wheel of a Delta Boeing 757 just flew off while it was preparing to take off at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The wheel then rolled down the runway...

One lap penalty and go to the longest line for the restart.

Seems like somebody would be checking the wheels and tires before takeoff.

They do but it's not like the pilots are pit there with a torque wrench checking every nut for every flight.

Boeing used to be a reputable company when it was ran by engineers… now it’s run by Wall Street investors who prioritize profit over safety. The airline industry needs to eliminate DEI altogether or we’re bound to have another major airline catastrophe.

Put it back in the hands of engineers and pilots, and there won't be any sloppy mistakes or glossed over problems. Then too, there is that DEI thing going on for the last three years and the last thing an airline needs is DEI in maintenance.

Lot of near misses and close calls from control towers and/or pilots of late too.

In all fairness, the 75 was built when Boeing wasn't a shitty company. Those things are packing some age/cycles and still doing really well. Not good this happened, but the 75 has a stellar record overall and is one of the best airliners.

But on the positive side I bet Boeing has worked hard to end racism and hire an excessive amount of non whites to prove it

More likely it is union maintenance either getting lazy or sabotaging things because they are pissed about their current labor contract.

Delta mechanics are not in a union. Only the pilots and dispatchers.

Interesting thread. Good thing the 75 has 2 nose wheels.

Every day the FAA handles roughly 45,000 flights. 45,000/day and today, a tire fell off.

One tire. I see more tires come off trucks in Breaux Bridge.

What is all this DEI talk? This thread has it. The comments about the plane on Twitter is full of it. Is this the new buzzword instead of "Woke" now? What a bunch of sheep. LOL

DEI will be the death of many folks in the coming years. I've never seen so many airline mishaps as we see lately.
Last week it was an engine catching on fire. Week before a side panel fell off.
