Fun fact:
in one of the most absurd rulings in scotus history that remains in ruling today, state laws that banned people from impersonating soldiers were ruled unconstitutional on first amendment grounds
Yep, you heard that right, you have a first amendment right to steal valor, according to the high court
It's not "stolen valor" unless you're using the uniform or faking military service to receive money.

One of my old troops got busted for this

The release also states that in October 2020, Priest impersonated an FBI agent, telling a fraud victim that Priest was an agent who could help her start a case if she paid him $85. The victim gave him $85 and days later Priest accused the victim of lying to him about the case and threatened to press charges against her for her “criminal intent and fraudulent misconduct.” Priest told the victim that she had made false statements and that he put his name on the line and gave her a discount with the courts to open the case. Priest then told the victim he had to pay a $150 fine and threatened the victim that warrants were going to be taken out for her. The victim paid Priest the $150 demand.
$85? Never underestimate the stupidity of the American public.

this is a thing?
Sounds like it. About like the guys that claim to be Navy SEALS. Those fakes are so bad that there is a former Frogman named Don Shipley that does nothing but call them out on it. It is quite comical when he gets one on the phone and he asks them what BUD/S class they were in since he has the list of all present and former Team guys.

I love watching that video lol
Dude is the TEXTBOOK cop-wanna be with all the exact answers and demeanor you'd expect from someone who lives at home with his mom and never managed to get on as a police officer.

I think he really thinks he is a police officer. One of the most delusional people ever.

I got a buddy that was pulled over by a stolen undercover/unmarked police car. They turned on the blue lights and everything. They had police vests and everything. He knew it was fishy when he saw them with old school revolvers. They took his phone and his wallet. Hopefully those police officer/s that got the car stolen are now security guards that drive around in a little truck or flipping meat products for burritos at taco bell.

Douche is being kind. That guy's a certified nut job. That's about the only thing he's certified at, the rest of his cert's are bullshite.
If anyone reading this hasn't gone down that YT rabbit hole, strap in. There's something fascinating about the lengths some people will go to get respect...

Anyone in Birmingham remember the youth evangelist who got in trouble for this a couple of times? He had a huge following prior to his legal troubles.

The dude was a walking, talking lie the entire, albeit, short time that I knew him. He arrived at the base, out of tech school, with a warrant issued against him for basically stealing a car. That was our initial introduction to him.

I hear that, Corp, but with all due respect according to traffic code 102.3 I had to pull the priest over for interfering with my funeral procession. Corp, you and I know when we are in the field on patrol these things happen and our training kicks in to protect the public and my fellow traffic officers, Dingo and Hawkeye.

Ever see people 'railfanning'? People who model railroads, video trains, know a shitload about the entire industry - but don't work in it. Confuses the hell out of me tbh.

I went to school with a guy like that. It was known to the teachers that he had some kind of mental issue. He'd pulled people over on the interstate more than once, and I think this habit endured into adulthood.
He was in JROTC (of course) but they only gave him the minimum rank for his grade level allowed by JROTC regulations. He made it all the way to Cadet Staff Sergeant, I think. They also never gave him any kind of specific job (like "Logistics Supervisor" or whatever) because they knew he'd twist it into being Jeremy Dewitt / Captain Queeg.
Nevertheless, ol' boy bought a service cap (like an airline pilot or ship captain wears) to replace the silly little "flight cap" everyone got issued for free and he's in that frickin' hat in his LinkedIn picture (we're both almost 50 years old now
). It was like this but with a JROTC badge up front:
This guy runs a barber shop across from a courthouse in a parish seat now. Probably considers himself an insider because he gets to give deputy sheriffs haircuts.

Back in college, I used to occasionally make some drinking money by serving difficult to serve "civil papers." I would roll up in my Jeep, wearing a tie dye shirt (or something equally stupid), sandals, and shaggy hair, and invariably people would open the door. "Yuv been served mutha fukkkaaaaaaa." Quick $100. Playing cop be all like "you can keep on knockin but you can't come in."
