What’s the worst you’ve ever done in an interview?

I had my first in-person interview for the first time in years yesterday for a position that I was highly interested in. I feel like I nailed about half of the questions, but I fumbled through the other half and totally butchered one of them (this was a two-hour technical interview) to the point that it was just incredibly embarrassing.
I know you can’t get every job you go for and this will be good practice to get me back in the interviewing mindset, but I still can’t stop replaying the questions that I did poorly on over and over in my head, as I think the panel had high hopes (based on my phone interviews) that I didn’t live up to.

I am the interview king. Im batting something like 80-85% on getting an offer after a phone or face to face interview. I cant type well or sell myself via resume/application as well as i should but get me in a conversation and i got that shite.

I had a Skype interview and there was a problem with the interviewer's audio. I had to scream to be heard. So I screamed at this person for an hour. Turned out great!

I had a interview in Houston for a similar company that I worked shift work for in college. I loved the money and the company was good people. I hated the shift work, but it allowed me to work a lot of hours and still graduate etc.
Well the interview was going well and the subject of shift work came up and I blurted out “that’s not gonna work for me” the guy asked me to reconsider and I explained after over 5 years of shift work I just wasn’t going to work anymore nights and weekends

I bombed an 8 hour interview at Intel in Portland. That was on a Friday, and on Monday I had failed my thesis defense.
No week's been that bad since.

I'm really good in interviews. Only time I've not gotten offers is because firms have balked at paying me market rate.

I have interviewed for four jobs since 2007, and have landed all but one.
I don’t think anything went wrong in the one I didn’t land, I wanted more than they could pay.

Applied for a job I really didn't want, but called for an interview. The 2 guys doing the interview were major company yes men and just aholes in general. About 20 minutes in I asked to use the restroom, went down the steps, got in the truck and drove away. Wonder how long they sat in the conference room before they figured out I wasn't coming back?

When I was in college, I had a guaranteed job offer going into interviews at career day so I felt I had bargaining power. Knowing what the bar was, I thought it was a good idea to start off every interview with asking how much does this position pay. 
My thought was to save everyone the 30 min of time it takes to figure out if I would be a good fit when at the end of the day, I would never accept the job because the money wasn't there. When the dust settled, all I can figure is the reason why I had zero offers was because what I thought was a well intended and courteous question ended up being viewed as me being a cocky, money hungry dkhead. The truth is, I am a confident (often viewed as cocky), money hungry dkhead but I honestly think that is what makes me good at my job. Many people view that as a threat but I am not going to change when it produces results.
If I had to do it all over again, I probably would have been more articulate in how I stated my non-negotiable's and at the same time, waited until the 2nd/3rd interview before I laid that out on the table.

Final semester of grad school-stayed in a hotel in NOLA the night before an interview. A few drinks with a buddy turned into a very late night party. Damn near had to run 4 blocks to the interview in a suit because I forgot my paperwork at the hotel. My face was so red and I was sweating so much the lady interviewing me asked if I was ok. Only interview I've never gotten a call back on

Interviewed for a job with a bank (that I heard through friends that the position was already filled). Basically it was a courtesy interview. That said, went out the night before and watched March Madness till 11-midnightish drinking.
Obviously I didn't prepare for the interview as it was out of the blue and I really didn't know the job description. They caught me with a left hook question and I was stumbling around trying to answer it. It wasn't good.

Only once did I interview and not get the job. I was laid off in '09 and interviewed for a job that was part-time (woman was leaving on maternal leave). I was more than qualified for the job (maybe over qualified but at the time I was OK with it) and they asked me the worst question imaginable and I thought my answer was spot on.
The question;
If you're hired for this part-time job and before Mrs. X returns to work you're offered a full-time job somewhere else, would you take it?
My answer - First I hope my performance here would warrant a full-time job offer here but if not then I would do everything in my power to complete this job before starting the new one but since I have a family to support I would have to take the full-time position.

I interviewed once for a position with the state to do IT work, but the actual job was working specifically on one of their programs, which I had no knowledge of.
The interviewer asked me detailed questions about it, and I told him that I didn't know the product.
He did call me back and offer me the job, but by that time I had found another one in the private sector and took that one.

I had a remote interview recently via teleconference, and following the interview was told that they felt I wasn't a fit for the job.
But I know a guy who works for that company, and he told me that the interviewers felt that I would "piss off the customers".
I have no idea what I did to give that impression. None.

Yeah, they're not going to be slinging money at someone they have no idea about. Get them hooked, them pull out your other offer and tell them to beat it.

My frst on campus interview in law school I basically had an anxiety attack during it. Shaking, sweating, everything. It was awkward as frick. After I got that one out of my system though they got a lot better. Interviewing is a skill that takes practice like any other.
